We were visiting Ogunquit Beach and felt a bit thirsty and we walked into this restaurant for a bloody mary that was tasty and delicious. You will north be disappointed.

My wife and I went here before they partnered with the trident inn. It was fantastic. However. We went this summer only to experience slow service and possibly the worst frozen cocktail I have ever had. (Watermelon daiquiri) a place like this should never “pre make” cocktails. Disappointed. May try it again next year. Needs improvement. Bartender seemed wicked stressed out even though nobody was there. Saw the managing partner pop in for a bit. Should have taken over service that night.

Our first meal. Delicious and original food. The focaccia with fig balsamic dipping sauce was exceptional. The chef’s focaccia is the best ever! Light and flavorful. Even fluffy!
We returned for dinner our last night and we’re not disappointed.

This is the second time we’ve eaten at the Coastal Alchemist within a two week period, and both times were fantastic! The second time we were very warmly greeted by Matt, the general manager. The wait staff is also very attentive and friendly. The food is delicious, the atmosphere beautiful and the view is fantastic! So far everything we’ve had has been delicious, in particular the Trident burger, the shrimp and grits and hanger steak. We were equally pleased with the appetizers. Can’t wait to return.

Put this on your list! Coastal Alchemist is pure magic. The view alone — rooftops, trees, and the ocean stretching out in the distance — makes you want to stay for hours. Add in perfectly chilled wine (with cheeky literary quotes under the glasses!) and you’re already set for a good time.
The food is just as impressive. Everything feels thoughtful but relaxed, like it’s made for sharing and lingering.
It’s the kind of spot where you lose track of time, sipping and snacking.

Charming cocktail bar perched on a hill overlooking Ogunquit! Three of us walked in and sat at the bar on a Saturday night - the drinks were tasty and the bartender was lovely to talk to. We didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on the food but definitely worth a stop in for a drink and the view.
Stayed at The Trident and had our dinner reception for our family elopement here and it was incredible. The food, cocktails, and service were all so incredible. My dad said it’s the best steak he’s had in a long time and we were amazed by the portion size of lobster ravioli! I had the branzino and it was so special, I will dream about the sauce. The tuna and focaccia cannot be missed as well!

I can’t possibly say enough great things about Ava! The only thing better than the view was her service. My wife had to drag me away. I was ready to drink them out of rose! I’ll be back!

The food was excellent and the restaurant is charming and well located. Unfortunately, the service really ruined the experience. It took 45 minutes just to get our drinks. One friend ordered a mocktail and had to ask twice about it — 20 minutes after the rest of us had our drinks, only to be told they didn’t have the ingredients.
Our server didn’t know how to use a wine opener and struggled to open a bottle of wine. We ordered two burratas, a charcuterie board, and focaccia. Twenty minutes later, the server came back to say they only had one burrata left, so we changed our order. But in the end, we received both burratas and the additional starter, which we wouldn’t have ordered had we known both burratas were available.
The focaccia never came. When we first asked about it, we were told it was coming. The second time, we were informed they were out of focaccia — and were given five crackers instead.
Another group of four at our table specifically asked to have their meals served with the starters, since they had young kids and needed to leave early. Their food came quickly, but the kids’ sandwich arrived after the other group’s meals, so the kids left without eating.
The server never checked in to see if everything was okay, and a 20% tip was already added to the bill — so it felt like she simply didn’t care.
Very disappointing, especially since this place has a lot of potential. Great food, beautiful spot — but the service was unacceptable and took away from the whole experience.
This place has an amazing atmosphere. although the menu was not extensive, it didn’t need to be. It was extremely diverse. Definitely something for everyone. The Shrimp and Grits were presented beautifully, and seasoned perfectly. An excellent compliment of flavors like I haven’t seen before. The wine choices were also very well selected. Our server, Ava, was so pleasant and knowledgeable. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
