Current menu has no vegan options. The server was only able to offer me plain french fries.

This was a great spot! We had so much fun. The service was great and our food was amazing. Such a thoughtful and creative menu, we had the adult happy meal and capri sun rum punches.

Service was slow. We didn’t receive our menus or get to order for about 15-20 minutes. Our waters came AFTER we received our food and was warm. I mentioned my shellfish allergy and was told only one portion of my meal would be affected but when my order came out I was told 2/3 parts of my meal was affected by cross contamination. I wouldn’t have ordered that meal if I knew ahead of time. I was offered a salad as compensation but wasn’t given a fork.

Was seated outside at 3:30 on a Sunday, sat at table for 25 minutes after being given menus and were never acknowledged again, order wasn’t taken. Waiter walked by 8-10 times taking care of other tables. Left without ordering and won’t be back.

Every time I visit Maine I make sure to stop in Food For Thought to get my favorite Congdon donuts grilled cheese & tomato bisque!! I honestly crave it throughout the year until I make my way up there! I also love trying the new beers they craft up! Jay and his team are always professional and friendly.

Really disappointing experience. We went in with high expectations after seeing all the food posted on Instagram. Seating is outside which was expected and we chose a high top. The chairs were very uncomfortable and so low that it was hard to reach the table properly. They were also falling apart in places. I was honestly concerned it was going to rip. The top of the table was not bolted to the stand so every time someone accidentally leaned on it it would almost flip over.
I ordered a burrito bowl with lobster which was very good however it was hard to eat because they only give you plastic utensils. It was a 43 dollar burrito bowl, I would like to eat it with a real full size fork.
The other issue is the price of the food vs the service. We paid 200 dollars for our meal as a family of 4. We were given plastic utensils, warm water without ice on an 85 degree evening and the chairs and tables were falling apart. They charge 5.50 for a can of soda and bring you just the can without even asking if you’d like a glass to go with it. They charge a 20 dollar venue fee which is nuts considering your table is falling apart and you’re basically eating in a parking lot.
We ate at several places in and around York the week we were there and pain MP for lobster at almost all of them.
The lobster roll MP was 45 dollars at FFT and tiny, down the street a few miles at Lobster in the Rough MP was 30 dollars and it was twice the size.
Do yourself a favor and don’t fall for the catchy instagram posts and pictures, go to just about any place else and York and enjoy a delicious authentic lobster experience without all hype and venue fees.

What a disappointing and disheartening experience we had on vacation. Our food and service was slow, apps delivered at the same time as dinner, one dinner significantly delayed, sauce for sandwiches not delivered until meal halfway complete, and then $4.99 per can of soda (not advertised on the menu). When i expressed dissatisfaction, the waitress told us the owner is rarely there. She didn’t have the skills to create a corrective experience and made no attempt to turn our experience around. She and the other waitress were then unkind to my family and my young adult daughters were appalled. In more than 50 years, I’ve NEVER not left a tip. Until this experience at food for thought.

We went tonight for dinner and had a phenomenal experience! Everyone working was so kind and funny they made a great first impression as soon as we walked in the door. We had the clam chowder, lobster Rangoon and the donut grilled cheese and tomato soup. Everything so absolutely delicious! Service was fast, food was great and everyone there was just so friendly and wonderful. We will absolutely be back!!

The pictures of the food were great but unfortunately the things we got just didn't hit the spot. Nice staff tho!

During our visit to the great state of Maine, we had many run-ins with local food and drink locations. This was BY FAR the best one that we hit.

The food?

Diabolical. Outrageous. We got a Honey Dipped Donut Grilled Cheese (I KNOW RIGHT) and a Hot and Buttered Lobster Roll.

The lobster roll was extraordinary. Melt-in-your-mouth lobster. SMOTHERED in rich, delectable butter. All on top of the fluffiest roll I’ve had in a while (and I have Amish relatives)

The Grilled Cheese? The HONEY DONUT grilled cheese? Avengers level threat. If that doesn’t sound good enough to you (idk how) it gets even better. It’s got ALL the cheese. And don’t even get me started on the tomato soup. Most tomato soups just taste like tomato water. Not here. The flavors in this tiny bowl meet you face first on the spoon; every individual ingredient crucial to the army of tastes pillaging your taste buds

The vibe?

Unmatched. Great music, great people, great dining room. Hell if you’re up to it they even have a barrel table.

Overall wonderful establishment. Even managed to secure a Celsius for the road. Staff is the bomb. I will be back, and peace be with the donut grilled cheese that I will face once again

We were so disappointed with our experience at Food for Thought. The service was incredibly slow. The cocktails and food were a total letdown. The donuts tasted like they were a week old (a shame because Congdon’s Doughnuts are amazing.) The “smashburger” was not a smashburger and was overcooked. On top of it all, the prices are outrageous for the food quality and atmosphere.

We appreciated that the staff took meals off the bill when we shared our disappointment but will not be returning. A bummer because we loved this spot when it was in Ogunquit!
