Lobster roll was good but cost $34 and was avg size. The place become
To commercialized. Last time small and cozy. This time all built up and 2 floors.
Has become a tourist trap. While we were there for lunch multiple bus tours arrived
Not worth the $$$

This was our first stop as soon as we crossed the border into Maine - it was fabulous! Clam chowder and lobster roll to die for. The "shack" has a wonderful atmosphere and great views out the window. Can't wait to come back!

This place is legit. I ordered the “hot lobster roll”. It came buttered on a toasted roll and it was fabulous. Growing up on the east coast my favorite summer treat was eating a whole lobster I would crack through and dip in savory butter. This roll brought me back to my happy place and I didn’t even have to crack a shell!

We had the lobster rolls and a cup of chowder. Listen, I know that lobster rolls are supposed to be the Maine specialty. But, I've never had something that looked so good, and cost so much, taste so... bland. Maybe I hyped it up in my head. I don't know. If this is what the Maine lobster hype is all about, I'll stick to the seafood we have on the Gulf Coast. The chowder was good, though.

This was a very delicious lobster roll and fish chowder. Small indoor seeting but plenty to keep the kitchen staff hopping.

This is honestly the best lobster roll I have ever had. The seating seemed very crowded and I’m not a huge fan of the communal benches, but hey, it fits for them! It didn’t detract from my meal, but it was a tad awkward.

First we were lucky enough to find a parking space in the Perkins cove main lot upon arriving around 11am. Got to the Shack around 11:20 no lines, nice gent the door asked if this was our first visit which it was he handed us a menu and explained the ordering process , about a min later he told us to proceed to the order desk where we placed our order after asking a few QQ’s which were answered promptly. Grabbed a seat near the back, chowder order and drinks came over quickly
Chowder was tasty and hot. Not too creamy or thick, lots of clams and I think some fish as well
Order came over in about 5 or so mins
My wife had 2.5 lb steamed lobster with the sides and I had the grilled Haddock sandwich
Both were delicious, lobster was perfect and sweet and Haddock was very tasty along with great tartar sauce, the fish was so big I barely finished it
Staff was friendly and responsive and food outstanding
The dining room is what we expected from reading other reviews so it is what it is, picnic type tables which I understand are shared when busy, same as another great restaurant Dominic’s in the Bronx great way to meet new people
Wish we lived closer !

Excellent! The inside reminded me of the interior of an old ship. Great original food and atmosphere.

My first lobster roll and it did not disappoint! I opted for the butter vs mayo version. Fresh lobster and the best “bun” (folded toasted bread). Oh.my.yum!! It comes with chips as well. Just simple perfection!! I also ordered chowder and it was a delight. Little pieces of potato, wonder full broth, and a ton of meat. Yum! Unfortunately, I ate it all too fast for photos.
I loved the atmosphere too; very clean and great little community area next to the ocean.

My husband and I had lunch here today, 10/2/24 and it was a wonderful experience. Tastiest chowder and lobster roll that we've had in quite sometime.
I use to bring my Mom and her sisters here many years ago.
Great spot, service and food.

Seems like prices increased between every one else’s review and the time I went. Was $32 for a lobster roll and $64 for the double. Food was good, but I spend almost $100 for two 5oz portion of crab/lobster and soup.
