Great ambiance, lovely servers, and the food is just as good! Can't go wrong with their hummus plate, and for mains any fish dish is divine! I also loved the Pastitisio - yummy but VERY filling! Our server also recommended some great Greek wines which I've never had before. A must-visit if you're in Ogunquit!

We had great experience at Nikanos. Located at the entrance to downtown Ogunquit. This Sunday was the start of their weekly Pasta Night. $17.99 gave you a selection of 1 of 10 pasta dishes. All looked really good. These came with a salad and dessert (donuts). We added on Pita with Tzatziki dip. Very fresh and appetizing. They also serve 2 kinds of bread, all baked there and tasty. We maybe had too much bread. Drinks were perfectly mixed and the entrees were incredible. I had chicken piccata. If I had 1 issue was that it was dense and roasted, not breaded and sautéed. Not a big deal. Chef did a great job marrying the sauce & pasta. Many other local places who serve pasta have trouble intertwining the sauce and flavors. My wife had chicken and eggplant parm. Spot on, very good. Overall this place has a warm vibe and it’s evident locals love this environment. That staff worked well to hit all points of service even though it filled up all at once between 4:00 and 4:30. We got there early because we had a feeling this would be the Sunday night spot to be.

This was our first time eating here. We called the restaurant for reservations and they were very friendly. Our server was excellent and was very communicative regarding the specials. All in all our meals were excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant to all that are traveling through this area. A+++Kid-friendliness: We had an infant with us and they were very accommodating.

This is a 10 on 10 ! What a wonderful evening we've had. We were a group of 9 which is always more work and we were treated like royalty by Michelle, the delightful lady who's entertained us all evening. She had wonderful suggestions. She understood our vibe right away. The meal was incredible. We shared the dip trio, the calamari and the spanakopita. They were all delicious but the spanakopita was exceptional. The best we've ever had.For the mains, everyone was so so happy with their choice. Moussakas, veal chops, half chickens, souvlakis, muscles, squids, were ordered and the plates went around the table. We wish we could have gone back the next day !!The ambiance is absolutely charming. The decor is gorgeous. The musician was talented and offered a wide variety of music that was perfect for the moment. We look forward to going back !Parking: There are a few free spots on each side of the restaurant.

I've been vacationing in Ogunquit in the off-season for many years now. I stopped here on a Saturday afternoon and they had great live, acoustic music during the midday. I enjoyed a couple of beers and took some flatbreads to-go. Both flatbreads were awesome: Tomato/Cheese and Lobster. The Lobster with the Dill was especially indulgent and delicious with a salad at the beach house that I rent later that evening.

Great food especially the lamb Schank and lamb Souvlaki. For appetizers try the mussels or the lamb meatballs both were great. The drinks are very good especially their special cocktails. Can't comment about dessert as we were too full from dinner. Service is a little slow, but you're on vacation, what's the rush. If you want a change from seafood, this is the place to go.

i'm a professional chef with two culinary credentials, and I sat at a table and waited till 5 o'clock to order food when people all around me had food. per waitress. Everyone had bread not me everyone had prompt attention, not me I feel discriminated against and will never go back. why treat me differently? no excuse Chef Mary Lawton Johnson, ccc, cepc

We had long wanted to make a visit to Nikanos which occupies a premium location on Ogunquit's Main Street...the decor is sleek and modern...casual yet upscale at the same time. Service is very friendly - thanks Michelle, Five star server. We were immediately directed to a fine table with a view of the outside fire pit...and cocktail orders were taken promptly. We all ordered craft cocktails from the menu...mine was called "Diver's Rock" made with house infused cucumber gin, muddled cucumber, agave and sour, topped with a splash of soda and fresh rosemary...very fine...quite refreshing. I much enjoyed. The menu is excellent...and tempts one to order appetizers as well as entrees. I got the grilled octopus which was accompanied by haricot beans, fava bean mash, and cherry tomatoes...perfection...perhaps the best grilled octopus I've ever had on either side of the pond. My companions tried the Oysters Onassis which looked great. My main course was Pasta Nikanos which was tossed with salmon, white fish, and mussels...very good. My companions ordered Pastitsio and the Lamb Shank respectively...all choices were excellent. I need to go back to try the Moussaka. Overall, our experience was superb...we enjoyed our dining experience very much. We'll be back! Enjoy.

What a fantastic place! This place excelled on all fronts. The atmosphere was very pleasant with the music playing. The staff was very friendly and outgoing. The food was very delicious. We had the Greek salad, the hummus and pita for a starter. We shared the Traditional Souvlaki steak skewers with tzatziki and a lemon sauce on a rice pilaf and some grilled veggies. The dessert we chose was called “not on a sundae” that featured pistachio ice cream, fudge sauce and baklava crumbles throughout. My husband tried the ouzo for an after dinner drink. It was quite a meal! If you love Mediterranean food, you won’t be disappointed!

Nice atmosphere, unfortunately lamb gyros and service were underwhelming especially for the price. I told the waitress when she asked and said it was edible and she just replied "great". This was the brunch menu, so maybe better with other menu items.
