We had friends visiting from Italy, and were looking for a place to have drinks and a snack. When I inquired at the back door, I was told it was full dining service. While I was talking with the hostess, my Italian friends, who didn’t speak English and couldn’t read the signs on the tables forbidding people to sit there that aren’t patrons (all the tables were empty at the time) sat down to fix her shoe. The table she sat at had some trash on it prior to her sitting down. I saw the signs and saw the employees glaring at them for being at one of the tables. So after a minute I encouraged them to finish up. They left the table and a girl came out and told them to pick up the trash. I told them what the employee said, and they were confused and the employee said “what, is that too much to ask to pick up your trash?!” They didn’t understand but they could see she was upset about something so they picked it up and threw it away. They then told me me as we walked away that the trash was sticky and gross. What a welcome to America. I understand everybody is understaffed and overworked. I am too. But there was no need for the rudeness. We visited an establishment across the way, and they could not have been kinder or more accommodating and welcoming to our visitors.

Best view in Ogunquit! Even to get off your feet, air out back and enjoy a beverage.

My wife and I liked this place so much we went two days in a row. The lobster roll was delicious and the back patio is a very casual and relaxing area to enjoy your lunch. The waitresses are very attentive! We met the owner the second time we visited and really liked her! Even though she was busy she took a couple minutes to pop by and talk.

Best meal we had in our weekend trip to Ogunquit. We got a table outside, which let us enjoy a beautiful view. I would highly recommend the sweet crab cakes; some of the best I’ve had.

I was looking for some different food for dinner last night. Stumbled upon The Trap & it did not disappoint. The food was delicious & unique to the area (I can only eat so many lobster dishes!). We took it to the beach & it was a total delight. Will definitely go back.

Great small restaurant especially if you can be on the terrasse ! The food is good and the view is breathtaking ! The personnel is very nice and smiling ! Great place if you wanna eat oyster, salads or mussels in addition to a good lobster roll !

Food quality was very low and price tag high. Not recommended. Much better places on the area.We order lobster rolls and mussels.Lobster rolls: bread was poor quality and greasy, sides were cheap made pasta and pickles. We did not get pickles. When we asked why?, the waiter said they ran off pickles. After complaining, they brought them. All this for 28 usd each!!Mussels: some mussels had beards (therefore taste was not good) and the shells were full of barnacles.I was very disappointed about the experience since we had only one dinner in the area.

A hidden gem of a place! We had crab cakes, shrimp tempura, and watermelon and arugula salad. All were excellent. The service is friendly without being overbearing. The view of the cove is wonderful.

The host/owner is more concerned about rotation than food quality and service. We were asked to look at the menu and decide our order outside the restaurant, then asked to pay before sitting (fast food style). The food was bad quality.Price was not fast food like, but quality was.Very disappointed!

Great food with an artistic flare. Very organized, friendly staff. Hands on owner, very accomadating. We ate the fried oysters, tempura shrimp and korean bbq poke bowl. So good The atomphere was casual and literally right on the beach. Loved it.

This is a whole-in-a-wall. There are only 4 or 5 tables in the back...but the open ocean view is spectacular. Food is super fresh and service is prompt. We had fresh oysters (better than most fresh seafood joints in NYC), watermelon salad, poke (spectacular) and seared tuna sandwich (excellent) Highly recommended.

Beautiful small outdoor patio with a view but we were unable to be seated there with our Boston Terrier so we sat on the street side patio. Gluten free clam chowder and fried oysters were yummy. Good lobster roll but disappointed it was served on regular gf (tasted like Udi’s) sandwich bread. I was crossing my fingers for a gluten free locally baked roll.

Great service, delicious food. Crab cakes were superb with a different take on bread crumbs in them! Loved the different version of calamari with the balsamic and parmesan. Yum! Patio out back has great view of Perkins cove, out of the sun so not hot!
