A great place for wonderful bread and delicious sweets!
I cannot recommend the raspberry pie enough! My dad and I love it and we get some every time we're in the area. My nana loves to get a few dozen cookies to freeze and heat up with her coffee. I've tried most of the items here and everything is delicious. Definitely check it out if you find yourself near!
Excellent baked goods! Despite Google saying they're still closed they are very much open! Friday and Saturday 9-2!
Home made goods that taste amazing and prices that can't be beat.
Excellent baked goods. Enjoy pies, cookies, scones , muffins and many tasty treats. Worth the $ and the trip!
Actually it is open 9-3 on Fridays and Saturdays. Please correct this listing. And be sure to go today for the best scones, muffins, cookies, breads and pies.
We come every summer and stay on Toddy Pond down the street from the Breadbox Bakery. It is one of our favorite stops on the trip. Every year we look forward to going and enjoying their delicious baked goods. Their scones are to die for. We buy their donuts and cookies as well. They are moist and delicious. Another amazing thing is they bake many gluten free treats as well! My daughter has celiac disease and never has had an issue with cross contamination. It is such a treat for her. I was shocked at the review calling the owners rude. Anyone who has waited on us has been more than friendly. It is a wonderful, quaint bakery selling quality treats!
Amazing pies, scones, cinnamon rolls, muffins and lemon bars! Worth the stop
Absolutely wonderful baked goods and kale dip
Super raspberry pie ($17), scones are delicious, cookies are the best anywhere and the breads are made with great ingredients.

Awesome people!
While driving through the mid-coast of Maine, we like to explore different hole-in-the-wall food places. Sometimes we score a great find, other times it's a failure but it's always memorable. On this trip to Orland, our family found what will be one of the most memorable little places from our trip which served up some delicious food. When we pulled up to the Breadbox bakery, we parked right in the middle of the small parking lot and saw this tiny building where it looked like a hobby baker worked, not a typical bakery. However, as the cars came and went, we figured it was a popular place and after we ate there, we understood why. Although I'm not a chocolate cookie expert, I've eaten enough of them in my many decades on this planet to know a good one from a bad one. Theirs was considered the best chocolate chip cookie by more than one of our family of five and we even went back to their bakery a second time in our trip for more (would have gone a third time but they're only open Wed-Sun). I also ate a mini blueberry pie pretty much by myself - it was that good. I'd never eaten a scone I liked and when one of my kids asked to get one, I thought it would be a waste of money because the few scones I've ever eaten were dry, tasteless sponges. When I ate the blueberry scone form Breadbox, it was moist, fluffy, and had great flavor. The only thing we ordered that wasn't that great was their apple pie but if I'm ever in the area, I'm going to load up on chocolate chip cookies, blueberry pies and probably scones. This place is definitely worth your time. You'll need to drive 0.2 miles off the main highway but I'd probably drive 10 miles out of the way for another taste of their delicious chocolate chip cookies or blueberry pie! Try this place, and I'm sure you'll agree that this place might be the best little bakery in the entire state of Maine. The staff were friendly, the prices were good (but who cares about the price, the taste was so good I'd have paid more) and this place is worthy of a stop.
Went to the bakery on Wednesday as website says they're open Wednesday to Saturday, but alas, they were closed. Autumn hours are Saturdays only, 9 to 3 but their last day of business is October 19, 2019 until Spring 2020. Too bad they didn't update their website or apologize for the inconvenience.
This is a must have while in this part of Maine. The berry pies are absolutely delicious, just the right balance of tart and sweet and the crust is buttery and flaky. They offer a nice selection of GF items and there is an adorable antique shop on premises that has unbeatable prices for really nice items. Highly recommend stopping by and having something sweet.
