It's a little expensive, but it's good. We tried a variety of items from the menu, including a coney dog, a Chicago dog, mac and cheese dog, poutine, onion rings, and a grilled chicken sandwich.

They have the best food, and I like the atmosphere. The issue I have, is the man behind the counter who waits on customers. He has waited on us several times in the past, and every time he is rude, bur we keep going back because of the food. We went today, he was there and waited on us. He was so rude, he made rude comments about us right in front of us. I don’t think I will going back as long as he works there.

Everybody is a critic, but that’s OK. I’ve had Chicago dogs in Denver, Dallas Albuquerque everywhere but Chicago and I am from back east this place was absolutely wonderful. Made to perfection. I had the homemade cut fries with skin on absolutely perfection. If I could give 10 stars I would. ??✨

I've had the food here a number of times (mostly the dogs) and while "nothing to write home about" it's been tasty and fills the hunger bill ... (full disclosure): I mostly come in when I'm thirsty and the last couple of visits seems like I've been overcharged for my beers. Tonite I got four beers and the tab came to $36, before the tip. That's a bit high, "imho". I have no complaints with the staff, they're college kids, very nice and polite and doing their best with the random summer tourist crush that Orono is being blessed with (!), but either my math is off or I'm paying a bit more $$$ than I should on my bill. Otherwise no complaints.
Parking: parking not a problem if you get here at the right time

Blue Monstah is my new favorite flavor of ice cream! That aside, wonderful service, very nice venue with outside tables in the grass with doggy bowls as an option for seating. Great location too with really neat vibes.
My first time at the family dog and it was not disappointing. A lot of food, good prices and great tasting food. I will be back.

Without a doubt the best fast food we've eaten at... and we've tried many of them on our travels around the world. This address is in my opinion a must in Bangor! The food is not too greasy and looks like "homemade". The quality of the products and the chef make the difference! The owner is adorable and the waitresses very pleasant

We have frequented this establishment for 8 years now when we travel to Maine for work. The owner is AWESOME and his staff is a reflection of him. The Ohio Boys love The Family Dog....we call it "Dog Days" amongst ourselves in homage to "American Pie" ??
