Nice, white tablecloth restaurant with upscale menu. Service was indifferent, food was average and kitchen was a bit slow. I'm not a local and was expecting a bit better based on price and appearance. It was a nice, quiet place to dine with friends.
I first learned of Maurice restaurant more than 10 years ago. We finally made it this weekend, and it was worth the wait! We started with the french onion soup, which had great depth of flavor and perfect balance of crouton and cheese. I had the duck à l'orange, which was perfectly moist, but also crispy on the outside with a delicious orange sauce. My husband had the twin filets with brandy peppercorn and bernaise sauces. Wow, this place had a 50th anniversary and we have been coming to Norway ME some 29+ years.. oh boy… How did we ever miss this place. Thanks Steve S., we would have never found this place even though they are almost across from Advanced Auto Parts.
