Thank you so much for staying open this winter. I have brought my kids there many times for fish fry Friday and the fried haddock is amazing. We have also been many times for Smashburger night on Mondays and the Smashburger’s are absolutely amazing. Perfectly seasoned. This past Monday I got the vegetable of the day instead of fries, which happened to be carrots and they were the most delicious carrots. My kids would not stay out of them, and they even said they were the best they had ever had. The staff is friendly. The service is great and the entertainment is also great. I would highly recommend everyone come check it out.

Been going to Mel’s for a couple of months now. The food is always flavorful and delicious, and the staff is super friendly. Our favorites are the smash burger, meatloaf, and my hubby loves the hotdogs. We have done dine in and take out. Justin is always super friendly and willing to make sure we have the best visits! Excited for them to get their soups on the menu (and posted online please 😉) as Winter is here and soup is also a favorite of ours. Excited to have a new local place!

Food was sub par. Cold French dip with one slice of dry beef and unmelted cheese. Au jus, if you want to call it that, was more like broth tinged water. The fish sandwich was bland and soggy. Out of several products. Appetizer arrived before we got our drinks (which were made incorrectly) not even offered a water. As far as a comfortable seating area for dinner is concerned it was like being in a bounce house. Kids were running in and out of the building and the floor shakes uncomfortably. We were excited to try it, however most likely will not be back anytime soon.

Come for the food, stay for the sunset. I think the food here might be the best value in the area. Nothing fancy but always good quality at a very reasonable price. The service is always top notch. The location is amazing with great outdoor deck seating and panoramic views of the golf course and mountains. Even the indoor seating enjoys great vistas and is perfect for viewing the sunsets even on chilly nights. Arrive early and enjoy a walk around the beautiful Poland Spring Resort. Be sure to check the hours as they will apparently be scaling back during the winter months.

By early afternoon , we were hungry for a good lunch. We stopped at Mel's Hilltop restaurant , not knowing what we would find. Although they were open they were reasonably empty. This place is like a nineteenth hole restaurant overlooking the golf course and we were not quite so sure how good the food would be.
We were greeted and seated instantly. They took drink orders and we ordered sandwiches. Our food seemed to come out instantly! The highlight of my lunch were the hand dipped onion rings, highly recommended. Not only were the sandwiches great tasting , but they were huge! The prices were reasonable and they did have a full bar for your enjoyment pleasure. If you are near Poland Springs this is the place to stop for lunch.

Hiked the trail around the golf course then my husband and I got to the restaurant and waited 5 mins before we were seated, then waited another 10 mins before they asked what we wanted to drink, then the waitress never came back and then another waitress gave us menus and and then didn’t come back and we waited over 30 mins before we asked about drinks (just needed water) and she was busy and we just left. Lack of communication, wasn’t even busy and the people who came in right before us and after us were served drinks, given menus and placed orders before we were even acknowledged. Service was very poor and we literally could have waited longer if we had drinks at least.

Went here for dinner because it was the only choice on the resort. I waited almost 45 minutes to be served while 5 tables inside were empty. I was dining alone. I was told that they're backed up with orders in the kitchen & that's why I had to wait so long. My Asian ribs were very fatty. I didn't finish them. I waited almost 20 minutes for someone to notice that I was finished eating. I had empty, dirty dishes on the table & was turned around in my chair, facing the path that the staff were walking through. These are clear signs that a customer wants their check. I had several employees pass me by without even a glance my way, catering to multi-party customers. As a lone diner, I find this a common occurrence since my tip would be less than tables with more people. If I could've walked out from the beginning & go somewhere else, I would have. A customer is a customer & should be treated the same as a multi- person table.
Management sent me a response & asked me to give them another chance. I went back 2 nights later with a friend. Again, the restaurant inside had only 2-3 tables of customers. We were seated immediately, asked what we wanted to drink & got them in a timely manner. However, it took the waitress 20 minutes to take our order & another 30 minutes to get our food. Two tables of customers who came after us got their food before us. When we asked the waitress why it's taking so long for our food when two other tables got theirs, she said that the kitchen was backed up with orders (the same excuse I got the last time). She also said it's Sunday & the regular kitchen staff aren't there. The cook tonight isn't as good as their regular cook. Once we got our food 5 minutes later, my friend's black bean burger was tasty but the lettuce, tomatoes & sauce were missing. I ordered my chicken wings with barbeque sauce on the side. I got blue cheese on the side. The wings were chewy & rubbery to the point that I couldn't finish my meal. My jaw was too sore to chew anymore. The waitress was apologetic & took the drinks & wings off the check. Clearly, the core issues of this place continue. I recommend that if someone's staying at Poland Springs has a car, go outside the resort for lunch or dinner.

The food here is really good!

I had there special burger; the boarmeat burger which they got the meat from pineland farms which was delicious

I was expecting the meat to have a really unique taste but had a slight gameiness and still tasted like beef but was overall great

And the onion rings were really solid

Would recommend!

Amazing food at very good prices. Compliments to whomever was working the fryer at lunch on Saturday, the fried haddock, onion rings, and sweet potato fries were delicious and perfectly crispy. Best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had!

Outstanding, quality food and presentation and even better service from our server Nevaeh. The manager Charlene stopped in to chat and make sure our experience was exemplary. This hidden gem has earned our business twice in one week due to the high quality and overall positive experience. Highly recommend!

Handicap bathroom is in the pro shop which is typically open the same hours as Mel's. Thats on the 1st floor & there's a couple tables & a few high bar like tables w/ stools , Located in front of pro shop, is outdoor seating for ♿️ or folks unable to climb a few dozen stairs .No actual indoor seatingMost of the waitresses were awsome here, unfortunately. There only so much even a good cook can do ,when others are firmly stuck on.. repeating the same old same old menu year after year ..its lacking the charm & love, it once was full if decades ago.

Parking: Lots parking but no handicap entrance with elevator to allow folks to eat , dine inside the building. There's outside seating under the stairs and the porch above . Seating is outside the pro shop &A handicap bathroom is inside the pro shop .
