Listen, I'd wanted to check this place out for years...my Sis was visiting from VA, it's the Fall season and I thought NO better time to go. Without reservations Only a minimal wait time and we were immediately met at the door with a beautiful smile! Already a win, we were then introduced to their signature ' cocktail list' which was lovely followed by their charbroiled ribeye, cooked perfectly! Everything was noteworthy and we both felt fortunate to have been able to convey this directly to the kitchen staff! Friendly and attentive bartender, met a few of the locals there who we found to be quite hospitable. A Great 'latr' nite right there in Oquossoc ME! (& hey, if you happen to be in town earlier in the day check out the market just across the street! They have alot to offer as well. : ) Thank you! ♡

The hostess was not accommodating or welcoming nor did she make any attempt to try to keep customers there

Came in with 4 people at 6:45pm on a weekend night and was told they couldn’t seat us at all. We were more than willing to wait as long as we needed and there were tables open but they just told us “no”. Not accommodating at all to customers to even try to fit us in. Host was super rude and even told us not to bother waiting for the bar because “as you can see people are standing there.” It was disappointing, as food is decent.

If you are gluten free, you NEED to check out this place for their pizza option. I have never experienced such amazing gluten free pizza, we even came back a second night just to have the pizza! Such an amazing environment as well. Highly, highly recommend!

One of our favorite restaurants in the area! Has a cool vibe, awesome bar, and is also a great place to eat with kids. We ALWAYS order the blueberry bbq wings as an app (they’re indescribably good). I love the seasonal salads and truffle fries, husband usually orders the steak. Can’t go wrong here. We usually get Katie as a waitress who couldn’t be friendlier, but everyone there is awesome.

Food is amazing. There is an older woman who works the host stand and she couldn’t have been more rude. Very unfriendly and I’ve been going to Portage for a couple years and never met someone who worked there that was that nasty. If you’re going to work in customer service you could at least be friendly. Very disappointed.

The salmon and blueberry baby back ribs were excellent. Good portions, attentive and knowledgeable waitress, very obliging regarding my celiac, even had a gf beer. I’m not crazy about the industrial decor and it was a bit chilly in there, but the place was extremely clean. I highly recommend you try it.

Visited in October. We both had the Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl as pizza is everywhere since Covid. Service and beer was great at the bar. Pizza next time! Very bland dish....

An outstanding restaurant in a small town. This place is easily comparable to any large city bar/restaurant. The menu is amazing and the items are expertly prepared. I loved the entire atmosphere, and Marisol is a fantastic host. Portage Tap House is definitely worth the trip.
