My family has been coming to Rangeley for 25+ years and we always make it a point to visit Red Onion several times during our vacations. This is a warm, local restaurant. It’s especially wonderful during ski season when you want a hot bowl of their famous chili. You can’t go wrong here.

We came here to try it out, since the last time I was here was when I was young. I didn’t really remember what it tasted like. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and my partner ordered the Mediterranean pizza. The chicken was great, and they offered to add Italian sausage for $4.00, so I did. This is where they lose a star, because for $4.00, I was expecting dinner sausage. They gave me little pizza sausage mixed in with the pasta and sauce. It was pretty good, just not the good quality dinner sausage I was expecting for $4.00. Hopefully they can fix this in the future. I did try my partners pizza, and the pizza was good, I just wish they offered a doughy crust pizza. I’m not a fan of thin crust. The restaurant was very clean and plenty of tables were available. The bathroom was pretty clean as well. I will definitely come back the next time I’m in town.
