The Weathervane Restaurant & Lounge

We’ve struggled to find good food anywhere in Maine for the last year I’ve felt that all the restaurants should be featured on kitchen nightmares. We tried weathervane for the first time today and everything was delicious. Will definitely be our go to from now on for date night. The only negative would be I ish the prime rib was a bit thicker but it was still delicious

when we got there it was about 3:00 and thought it was going to be slow and noise would be quieter. employees gathered around the bar area and so they got louder with each person waiting for their shift to begin. MY haddock basket tasted like the salt bottle cover came off and the basket looked like it did. my only other complaint is that Pepsi was & for 3.00 for 1 cup, meal was 17.00 and the server asked if we wanted regular fries, onion rings or sweet potato fries and being our first time here we didn't know that anything other than regular fries is another 3.00. it was probably just not feeling to great.

Great food, friendly staff, and a charming small-town atmosphere.

I’m only docking one star for atmosphere because it can get quite loud, even when there isn’t live music. The food is high quality, but it’s a little on the pricey side. When the place gets busy, it can feel crowded and a bit noisy inside. Thankfully, there’s outdoor seating if you prefer a quieter space.

And seriously, where else can you get a huge plate of just brussels sprouts? YUM!

There are two levels:
Downstairs hosts karaoke, trivia, and other fun events. It can get VERY loud during those, but that’s to be expected.
Upstairs, on certain days, you’ll find live music from local musicians. I can’t remember exactly which days, but they’re usually very talented!

Parking: There are a handful of paved spots right out front, a dirt parking lot out back, and overflow off to the side on the grass (but they painted lines for the spots, so it's not just chaos).

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to the front door and a few accessible parking spots out front.
Downstairs is not wheelchair accessible from inside, but there is an accessible entrance to the lower level for the parking lot in the back.

Usually food is amazing. The service needs help. We've gone several times the last few months, twice we did not have reservations and Had to sit at bar or out in the heat...even though there were 7 empty tables!! Shortly after we had to sit at uncomfortable bar, the next 2 couples came in, were seated at a table without reservations ...what gives? One time we went in. Got seated downstairs at a table.and service was Incredibly good....if there are free tables, 2 hrs b4 closing...you should be seated at a table.. I get the reservation issue. But twice. With 2 hrs left til closing, we couldn't get a table , with 6 to 7 tables available!!, but the very next couple that knew someone that works there could get right to a table. ..not right....we hadn't even gotten a drink yet when they got right to a table...this happened twice...we saw that it wasn't packed so decided to stop again and give it a chance....again at the bar...its uncomfortable in a dress, and husband has back issues.....this is 2 hrs b4 closing....
