I ordered something small and quick it wasn’t busy. I was wondering why 15 min later there wasn’t food. They had forgot to put it in the oven. And the tomfoolery by the staff while guests where there was unprofessional

I’ll have lived in Saco 10+ years and have ordered from this Amatos too many times to count. It seems that the quality drastically went down after COVID. I stopped ordering from this Amatos in the summertime, as Saco is overrun with tourists and every time we order in the summer the quality seems to be extremely sloppy and poor, and the wait super long, understandably so. Took a chance and ordered in the fall (heavy tourist season over) and was even more disappointed than I was in the summer. Cold sandwich was hot, hot sandwich was cold. The personal size pizza was cut into pazo bread strips? And extremely burnt on bottom. Both sandwiches were extremely light and all veggies were soft/mushy. Lettuce in the Italian had completely wilted into a giant blob. This can not happen in the 10-15 minute drive from the store to my house, I just don’t get it. What is happening? Many locals I have talked to would agree that the quality has gone down hill drastically. I hope Amatos can step their game back up and be what they used to be 5 or so years ago.

Google says that this Amato’s location is open until 9:00. However, when I finally got to the restaurant at 8:10 PM the doors were locked. When I called to let them know about the error online the representative on the phone made it seem like I was being a jerk for telling them. Poor service, which judging from the other recent reviews, sounds like it has been happening a lot here lately. I love Amato’s, and in particular this location, but this was a disappointing way to be treated.

Most of the time I pickup a phone order here no matter which side I walk to (line or no line) cashier will say "You gotta go down to the other end for phone orders/pickup" What's the point of having two registers and a cashier at each one if one is standing around doing nothing when there is a line at the other??? Thats all fine, But after today I'm done with Amato's! When trying to recieve my change the customer after me showed his phone with his mobile order to the only working cashier and he paused counting my change and began assisting this phone wielding line cutter. Had to get his attention and ask him if he could keep finishing counting my change. Then as I was leaving another patron with a phone order was being helped at the supposed non-phone order register. And my wrap fell apart after opening it!

The real Italian with mayo (instead of oil) is still my favorite sub. I go to Biddeford the most and sometimes Saco when passing thru. The staff are always friendly.

The Pizza has little itty bitty cubes of ham and ground beef the sausage and peperoni are also small. It was overcooked. It also was over 10 minutes late being cooked. It was very salty. Wasn't that great.
