The best Scandinavian pastries I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot! The kardamumbuller, kanelbuller, pear cake, fennel sausage hand pie were soooooo good that we literally turned around and went back again.
Fika is a hidden Swedish gem in Saco, Maine! We ordered a cappuccino, iced latte, the Kanelbullar and Kardemummabullar pastries. The Kardemummabullar is so fresh and delish with a hint of cardamom. The Kanelbullar was also just as good and fresh! We got there on the earlier side since there was a line by the time we left. The coffee was really great and a perfect pairing with the pastries. We sat outside at the picnic table with our puppy and it was a nice spot for a quick fika.
Fika was such a delight! The kaffe latte and matcha latte were delicious - honestly the best coffee I've had in a while! But the real stars of the show were the baked goods!
We also ordered the breakfast sandwich (without meat), Norwegian toast, cardamom bun, focaccia (shishito peppers and sweet corn), and a marzipan pear cake.
