Typically I don't like giving bad reviews because I think that everybody has a bad day every once in awhile. But... The last three times that I have been to this establishment, haven't been very noteworthy. The girst time, was roughly a couple of weeks ago. I ordered a meatball parm and a large fry. The large fry was the equivalent of a toddler grabbing a handful and there was enough sauce on that meatball parm to drown that toddler with. The second time was last week. I order a double real one, checked it before leaving and discovered it was a regular italian. They remade it but I didn't bother checking it because I figured, "what are the chances of messing up the same sandwich twice?" Got home and whuddaya know - it was the same damn error! The third time was today. I had to pick up a phone order and it was scheduled to be picked up at 1:20pm. I arrived there 5 minutes early and it took me 15 minutes after the order was due to be picked up, to finally get two vegetarian Italians. I will never buy another thing from this Amato's again.

I ordered a double ham, provolone and pickle Italian to take to the beach. At noontime when I opened my sandwich it had no pickles and was filled with tons of chopped onions instead. I just got off the phone with the manager who insisted he made the sandwich himself and he made it with pickles. He said he could not give me a refund because I called the day after and he could only give me 20% off my next order. He said if I had called the day of he could give me a full refund. I will never go to that store again.

Hadn’t been into an Amatos in over 20 years. Stopped for a Maine Italian and it did not disappoint. So glad they haven’t lost their touch.

We stopped here for dinner on our trip. I got a Stromboli that was pretty good. My wife got a Mac and cheese but it was Basically noodles with cheese on top. Her dish had absolutely no flavor. The kid at the register was really unhelpful and had a bad attitude. There is no seating so it is to go food only. I'm unsure if I would go back again but I am always willing to give places another chance.

My first Calzone experience, and I would definitely come back for one more. That one thing was big enough to suffice my hunger, super hot and delicious tbh... The subs look also really good, all looks fresh and the ingredients were of good quality.
The improvement part: Maybe timing, however they warn us it would take some time, so in a way you know what to expect and when!!??!!
From what I was able to see, there's no Seating so you pretty much order to take out (you can order in advance).
Within the store you have a big selection of snacks, beverages, deserts and even a pre-made sandwich and salad selection (in case you are in a hurry).
Kid-friendliness: It's ok, but no seating
Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible or someone holds the door open for you

This is the best Amatos I have been to because the staff are extremely friendly and easy going.
Other Amatos give me a hard time if I don't say my order in a specific way. Other Amatos have a staff that looks dead inside....NOT THIS ONE!
I definitely recommend this Amatos.

First time eating from this location and I must say hands down the BEST Steak & Cheese I've had in recent times all across the board. Sub roll was toasted crispy to perfection, steak was perfect with no rubbery overcooked steak. Got extra toppings like I wanted. 10/10.

Returning to Maine this was my first stop and as always Amato's Italians never disappoint, the bread was soft and fresh as were the vegetables. It's been 6 years since I've had one and it did not disappoint. A very unique sandwich that nobody else makes as well.
