So I saw your post on Facebook call is the photo I posted sounded awesome so I get together some family members made reservations for 1 o’clock. we get there get seated mind you nobody said nothing to us at this time about the items being gone.We go up to start getting our food. There’s no veggies at all. No rice pilaf everything in the warmers was cold. We asked the waitress about this. She told us she’s not the owner and there’s nothing she can do. I will never go back to that place. I will tell everybody anytime I talk to them about how bad it is so disappointing and they get and $35 per meal.

Some ups and downs... today I came in with another person and we both had the lunch buffet. We got there at 12noon. The dining room had 2 other tables filled, so not too busy. Being that lunch started at 1130, I assumed this would be a good time to come in. There are 5 sections in the buffet table. Their buffet options change daily. Today they have baked ziti, lasagna, meat loaf/Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, chicken Alfredo tortellini, and plain ziti with either meatballs or sausage. The good: everything was hot, and the young man who waited on us was kind and made sure we never ran out of water. The bad: the baked ziti was like mush. And it tasted off, like maybe someone forgot to drain the oil off the meat. I almost burnt my hand on the handles of the serving spoons. The meat loaf had a nice flavor, but was mush. All in all, I'd go back and give them a second chance. Hopefully it's better the second time around.

When they first opened I thought the food was fantastic with huge portions. It has gone so far downhill that I will not return. I ordered takeout the other night. It cost me over $30 for my meal. Pasta and meat only. Not even bread on the side. It was flavorless and the veal was very tough. I keep attempting to try them again in hopes that it will be like before. Not anymore.

We ordered chicken parm and it was huge, and had to take most home and it was delicous, and great as a left over. The portions are tremendous so you should split the meal unless you're really hungry or want left overs! The service was really good as well. The Greek salad was amazing as well and the Chianti delicious! The resturant was very clean and had a nice atmosphere. Plenty of free parking as well.

We had a party of 9 for a birthday dinner. It was our first time coming here. The portions are plentiful and there's an option for "sharing" for an additional $7. I inquired about that and what they do is, the chef separates and divides the entree's in half then adds some more to each. If there's anything you want to share I would definitely recommend doing that. It'd be well worth the money and it's more economical for anyone who is trying to curb their spending! That's what I plan on doing the next time I get to dine in there.Parking: Plenty of parking available when I went and there's handicap parking available too.

The Puttanesca came hot, fresh, and was absolutely delicious. It was also an exceptionally large portion which could easily be split between two people. There was definitely something off about the atmosphere because upon walking in I feared the worst and was worried I was walking into mediocrity. Was pleasantly surprised. Based on other reviews, we must have gotten lucky with service the night we went. Regarding service I have no complaints, but I will add that we were the only people in the entire restaurant.

While visiting in the area we wanted some Italian that wasn't pizza. Menu looked good so we gave it a shot. I had the chicken marsala and my wife had the chicken piccata. Both entrees were huge. we had plenty to eat and took the rest with us and made two additional meals for both of us. Topped it off with the lemon cake which was good. Service was good but a little slow given that they weren't very busy. I'd go back if I'm in the area again.

Oh my gosh where do I start with this one....to be fair we knew it was gamble going in but thought we'd give it the benefit of the doubt...we did not win this wager. The poor server was stressed I'm sure but the food was not his fault by any means. Husband had the chicken parm recommended by two staff and I had stuffed shells with a meatball side. I'll attach a photo for the "swimming in sauce" entrees we received because it was insane. First, everything looks the same we could have had the same dish and you wouldn't know it was that much sauce. Two, it's straight from a can zero thought given to the sauce which was amazing seeing as it's the star of every dish they bring out. Really driving home the "we can't cook so we are going to smother it in sauce and hope no one notices" vibe. Literally had to salt & pepper the living hell out of it just to have taste and then it was the taste of old table salt lol husbands chicken parm was a non descript burnt meat that was clearly made a while ago and then smothered in sauce to hide its burnt dry sad self and in hopes of rehydrating it to some degree. Also weird his really watery linguini came out on the side, never have I seen it separated and it did not help this presentation any by doing so. To attempt to make it palatable you had to do a build your own dish situation with the spare plates. I took the soggy sad stuffed shells out of my pool of sauce on to a dry plate cut the tiny sad tasteless meatballs up and seasoned what I could stand to eat. Husband gave up 3 bites in to chicken parm and ate the noodles with the sauce dumped off in to his parm plate. The icing on the cake was the Diet Coke. You have to actively try hard to make Italian food badly it not just a no effort situation you have to make a lot of effort to do it that badly. But the Diet Coke I literally don't know how you serve flat, watered down, Diet Coke to people with a straight face. It's fine out of can again you have to actively try to ruin it. Kid took the first ones back said it was a tap machine and maybe just needed to be redone. We should have left when he brought out bad ones again before the food as it was an omen at that point but there were folks in this place giving it a chance we thought maybe just maybe it's a local fav under the radar....no no dear sweet goodness no it is not. Walk away, don't stop in the marsh, drive on through as fast as you can go. It's not a quaint folksy spot like you want it to be from the outside looks of it, it's bad, really sad, and the extension chord running through the Resturant to keep the "open" sign on is not worth the energy they're paying for it. Gordon Ramsey or some kitchen nightmare show would love this place as a fixer upper I'm sure it had a hay day and people go for the memories once every couple of years and then remember why they don't go to this spot. Amazed they're open but there isn't a lot around so they are there clearly because of that. Again, don't waste your time, or money oh ya because hilariously this place is pricey like wth?! $60 for old burnt chicken parm and pre made unseasoned stuffed shells doused in canned tomato sauce?! I can't even it's criminal. Best to our server seemed like a nice kid with not a lot of options in town I'm glad he's got a job and he did take the diet cokes off the bill bless him but just a sad stop on a lonely road to no where glad we are passing through and hope it's not a showing of what else Maine has to offer.

Excellent food, large portions and plenty of garlic. Take out was piping hot on Friday night. Only thing missing was the garlic bread. Next time!

For xmas last xmas, we gave family gift certificates to Amore. Previous year we did it at another local restaurant and had so much fun and the opportunity to get together as a whole at least once a year. My wife and I had experienced Amore once before and was floored by the quantity and goodness of the food. Tonight was no exception. 10 of us gathered there and had the most fantatic waiter,,,,MOE. He is a hustler. He was everywhere and covered our every need. Highly recommend everyone should give them a shot "On the Marsh in Scarborough , Maine. Only complaint would be that drink prices seem a little high........if you drink..

Edit: I spoke with Jess today and she took care of the automatic gratuity added and was extremely nice and helpful. Refunded the 18%. She stated that it is the computer system that adds it but was more than happy to figure a way to rectify the issue. As I stated below the food is good!Thank you!Food was good but ordered takeout on the phone and was never told that they add an AUTOMATIC 18% gratuity to ALL orders. I feel like they are taking advantage of the patrons as some people may not know that they are being charged 18% tip and there is a spot to add an additional tip. Double dipping at the customer’s expense. I asked about it and was told it’s the computer system and there’s no way for them to take it off. And there was no one to speak to about it. Will not be ordering from here again. The response from the owner is false..No manager spoke to me or took care of the ridiculous 18% charge on a takeout order…

Chicken Picatta was awful. Flavorless chicken with a funky tasting sauce (chicken stock and cornstarch I think). Way too much pasta. I do not recommend this dish. Veal Marsala had not much better. Hardly any flavor. A "F"-ton of pasta though!
