Delicious! My first time here. I love that you go up and order, then pick up your food. No dealing with waitstaff, or the expense of a tip. I always prefer a casual and less expensive dining experience.

How things change over a season.Meal was expensive for what you got.We had clam strips. They were ok but there were very few of them. There were a ton of French fries too many. They were frozen crinkle cots and tasteless. The Cole slaw was bathed in mayonnaise and that was all we could taste. The tartar sauce would be better described as tartar paste. We may give them another try but it is doubtful. We think we will continue to patronize Lord's Clam Box in Sanford where we had much better seafood, more of it and a better price.

It’s essentially a cafeteria. We found ourselves here at the end of a long day of driving and just wanted to eat and the lot was full. It was our first stop in New England and wanted to get lobster which was our mistake. I’m sure the fried fish was good, it’s a fried seafood kind of place. The lobster was blah, the bun wasn’t fresh, it was kind of stale and it was disappointing, especially for the $25 price. I got the coleslaw side and it was kind of blah too. The fried scallop appetizer that my wife and I shared smelled like the fryer and had a bed of oil in the bottom of the tray. Blah. The good news was we started out our weekend with the worst food of the trip, so it only got better as the weekend went on.I’m not saying that this place was bad, but I assume that you have to navigate the menu to find the best stuff and we, unfortunately, did not.

My family chose to have Easter dinner at the Clambake but the food was very disappointing, overcooked and all of the seafood was very hard and very difficult to chew, almost not edible. We ordered whole clams with the Mates Platter and received clam straps. We won't be returning.

Great Easter Dinner. I ordered the combination plate with 3 choices, clam cakes, scallops, whole belly clams.Eric ordered baked haddock with seafood stuffing and rice pilaf.Everything was definitely good. The scallops had the yummy pop with scallop flavor bursting in your mouth when you bit into it, the clams were the flavor I remember every year since childhood. The clam cakes were good but seemed thinner and not as delicious as in years past. It's 3 clam cakes but maybe 2 thicker clam cakes would work better

This is the epitome of it must be nostalgia that keeps this place in business. Seafood chowder 1/10. The only good part about it was the amount of seafood. Flavorless seafood in half and half. Fried seafood combo. 2/10. Seafood way over cooked and chewy. Fries were decent but the bottom of the plate was a pool of oil that the fries sit in. Value is terrible. Way too expensive. They obviously shoot for quantity over quality.
