Not my choice of Mexican restaurant. I didn't realize it was order at counter and food was delivered. Mainly bowls or salads. No meals with beans and rice or a small salad. The worst part was the NOISE. Very hectic. We were told it was better than another one, but we disagree.

I highly recommend that you order the street corn. The esteemed pineapple. The single tacos are generously filled, and two can constitute a meal; however, I recommend ordering three as they are exceptionally enjoyable. I do not follow a vegetarian diet; however, this restaurant offers an impressive variety of options. The burrito bowls are exceptional; I wish they were more accessible so I could savor them throughout the year.

I cannot stress this enough: order the street corn. The golden pineapple. The single tacos are loaded and 2 is a meal, but get 3 because they’re that good. I’m not a vegetarian, but this restaurant has so many options it’s incredible. The burrito bowls are out of this world I wish they were closer to home and I could enjoy them all year.

It's a stretch to call this Mexican food. If you order expecting Mexican food, you will be disppointed. It's better to think of this as an American restaurant. We found all three of the different burritos we ordered to be boring . I didn't finish mine. The portions are generous and filling according to my nephew, despite the dull flavors.

I’ve frequented this place over the years and the food has always been ok at best… I’ll say, if you’re expecting authentic Mexican, this isn’t it. It’s also worth mentioning that its overpriced. Typically this wouldn’t be worth a review, but I came in tonight, albeit 20 minutes before close, and wasn’t impressed by the service. We were greeted by the cashier who was clearly not happy, and made several comments about closing soon, and telling us the kitchen was “mostly to-go”. Looking around, there were several other people seated waiting for food, but whatever. So we ordered to-go. Then after we order, two more couples come in and order in. Anyway, it took them 5 minutes to prep our food (which is usually a good thing) but after we get home, the food they prepped us was ice cold.. and as I said at best their food is ok. So to sum it up, bad service, cold food and overpriced.

Delicious and Fast! El Rayo Mexican in Scarborough really impressed me. The food was absolutely delicious — full of authentic flavor and made just right. Everything we ordered came out super fast, which is perfect if you’re short on time but still want a great meal. The tacos and burritos were amazing, and the service was friendly and efficient. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

Good size parking lot, right off the main street. I go here once a year after getting my eyes checked down the road. Absolutely obsessed with the taquitos! So scrumptious! I can't get enough. I ordered 3 and thought having 3 more would do the trick... ya, no. I just can't get enough lol!
