Beautiful view of Scarborough marsh. Casual indoor seating at wooden tables. Seats, tables, out back on the deck. Impressive, delicious dishes on a large menu. So many choices! Hard to match the variety for a breakfast and lunch place. All food is served in take out containers so it's clear away your own spot. Could use an extra staff taking orders and/or handling the upfront payments. Seems that only one person taking new orders, explaining menu items etc, as well as doing the bill transactions does produce a wait in line. Even if you have pre-ordered on-line, or by phone, you still wait the length of the line to pick up your food with those who are freshly putting in their orders.

Vegetarian options: A single menu item is listed simply as "vegetarian entré" No vegan entrés are on the menu.

Dietary restrictions: Vegetarians will also find plenty of veggies, salads, fruit desserts, many with cheese and butter.

Parking: Their off-season parking is not a challenge.

Wheelchair accessibility: Floor level entrances and exits.

When I walked in, it immediately reminded me of Bar Harbor -- the kind of whimsical vibe you get from the inns and breakfast spots there. The location is great, tucked away and surrounded by nature. But it's not just a breakfast and lunch spot; inside, they sell Maine-made goods, including spices, kitchen towels, and other little things made locally. They also have a fridge with grab-and-go options.

You order at the counter, get a number, and they bring the food to your table. Breakfast ends at 11am, then it switches to lunch with sandwiches, wraps, and baked goods. The sandwiches are delicious, but they're on the pricier side at $14-$17, and the portions aren't huge. That said, I feel like you're paying for the vibe and location too, and at least the sandwiches come with tater tots (or a salad)! Coffee was really good, and they offer discounted refills. I also loved that they use local ingredients when possible, like in their the sourdough, which comes from Bread & Friends bakery in Portland. I had the turkey + arugula + fig jam sandwich and it was good, but they could really tone down the amount of arugula.

Two other things I appreciated: the indoor dining area is super spacious, and there's plenty of parking.

Will I be back? Definitely, but I don't think I'll be a regular given the prices.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Friendly staff, the food was well prepared. Few soups, some salads and sandwiches/wraps.

My husband and I are visiting Maine on vacation and we came across Hanks on complete accident and stopped in for breakfast. To say I am so glad we did is an understatement! It was just wonderful. The food was delicious, both of the ladies we met were so sweet and a joy to talk to (one of them I am assuming was the owner!) and the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great meal, friendly staff & a relaxing atmosphere! You won’t go wrong!

Hank's was delightful and the food was wonderful. We had the turkey and fig sandwich and the lobster roll. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were friendly. They also had a small country type store with prepared foods.

Do not let the online menu fool you as it did us! The Clam chowder was more like bacon soup!! Almost nothing on the lunch menu was on their inhouse menu!! I ended up with a cobb salad which was only arugula, no lettuce, bitter tomatoes, no taste chicken, hard boiled eggs which weren’t cooked fully, ham which was good, croutons were sooo hard. My husband had clam chowder(bacon soup) and a tuna melt, which by looks & taste it was a very dark dry cheap tuna, the chef here needs some classes!! But with that being said the diet coke & root beer and our waitress were awesome!!! I gave a 2 for the waitress & drinks!!

Stopped here for lunch since there weren’t much places around the area. Got the Cubano sandwich for $17, came with some tots. Tastes good but not $17 good. Portion size was small but everything did come out hot. The store itself was pretty cool, I browsed around when I was waiting, I really like the premade food options in the refrigerator and local products in display.

Great place for breakfast or lunch when staying in or around the Scarborough area. Great indoor outdoor seating situation with a big yard and games. Nice grab and go freezer section with some pantry items as well. For lunch, I ordered the kale salad with added goat cheese and my friend ordered the Turkey and Fig Jam as a wrap. The wrap was pretty light on the meat but otherwise good. Salad was also light on the quinoa and would add a protein if I were to order it again. Don’t skip the chocolate chip cookie!

It was a lovely lunch and food is fresh and tasty. A bit pricey for the type of food. The frozen ice cream cookie was delicious but super big
