Beautiful view of Scarborough marsh. Casual indoor seating at wooden tables. Seats, tables,out back on the deck. Impressive, delicious dishes on a large menu. So many choices! Hard to match the variety for a breakfast and lunch place. All food is served in take out containers so it's clear away your own spot. Could use an extra staff taking orders and/or handling the upfront payments. Seems that only one person taking new orders, explaining menu items etc, as well as doing...
When I walked in, it immediately reminded me of Bar Harbor -- the kind of whimsical vibe you get from the inns and breakfast spots there. The location is great, tucked away and surrounded by nature. But it's not just a breakfast and lunch spot; inside, they sell Maine-made goods, including spices, kitchen towels, and other little things made locally. They also have a fridge with grab-and-go options.

My husband and I are visiting Maine on vacation and we came across Hanks on complete accident and stopped in for breakfast. To say I am so glad we did is an understatement! It was just wonderful. The food was delicious, both of the ladies we met were so sweet and a joy to talk to (one of them I am assuming was the owner!) and the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great meal, friendly staff & a relaxing atmosphere!...
