Had an amazing time at the Chart Room, which is located within the Black Point Inn. We all ate fresh Maine seafood while dining outside, enjoying the beautiful views. Our service was fantastic as well. This is a must visit restaurant in the area. We all loved the experience!

Great place to go for old world charm. We started our evening with drinks by the fire and then enjoyed a delicious three course meal. Our affable server, Joseph, made sure the evening went smoothly. Don't skip dessert.....they were so good! Nice romantic evening with my husband. One minor critique: make sure the lighting consistently stays dim to ensure a pleasant atmosphere.

Not the first time we have been to The Chart Room, but this was really special. We arrived mid-day when there were only a few clients at the restaurant. There was fog over the bay and from our outdoor table, we could see the fog lifting. Our waiter clearly cared about us and was available whenever we needed him. Then we ordered our reasonably-priced lunch--grilled shrimp salad. It was a memorable visit to this beautiful area because of the excellent food and the pleasant environment. We'll be back soon.

We had a wonderful “date night” at the Chart Room Black Point Inn last night. Our waiter was phenomenal. He attended to our every wish with kindness and respect. It was a little rocky at the beginning but they adjusted and graciously moved our table where it was quieter. Our dinner was excellent. I had the strip steak and my husband had the salmon. We culminated our dinner with a piece of Maine blueberry pie and ice cream. It too was delicious.

3 of our 4 meals were substandard. One salmon was returned to be cooked further and still came out undercooked. The chicken was mediocre. The caliber of the food did not match the caliber of the venue.

We loved this place and will be back. It was a splurge for me, my husband and two of my nieces but it was worth every penny. The food and service were high end, but the atmosphere was comfortable and pretentious. I wish it was open all winter as it would be a wonderful place to spend a Sunday afternoon in January.

The location is superb and the staff very helpful and accommodating. Mostly the food was fine. Crab cake starter was lovely. My wife’s main course of salmon was fine. My steak and fries was poor…. The steak was overdone and dry and the fries were lukewarm to cold! The kitchen also seemed rather slow in its delivery….. Such a shame the the experience was marred by this….

Food quality varies widely at this scenic, seasonal restaurant. Last night they served a gristly ,poor quality N.Y. strip steak for $36. It was not the first time we have been taken by a lack of attention to quality here.

Food was very good, views are spectacular if you are able to sit outside or by the window. Service was rushed, timing of food was very poor (entree came while still eating appetizer!).

Beautiful anniversary dinner complete with sunset and approaching tide! Coupled with amazing friendly service and well prepared food to match. The BPI is never a disappointment for us.

I generally give a 5 but my fish tacos were not as good as usual. Dry, fishy tasting. Asked for cole slaw side and got fries. She corrected it. Waitress may have had too many tables. The other three were satisfied with their meals.

Service was a bit slow. One hostess didn't know weekend hours. Cocktails were very good. Food was good but not over the top for the price you pay but you simply cannot beat the view. We will return & recommend for sure.

Cool historical location. Service was okay but slow at best and the food was average at best. My friend's salmon was flavorless, the onion soup tasted as if it was sweetened with sugar and the shrimp pasta dish was very bland. Overall, I would try again for a glass of wine and an appetizer, but would hesitate to book for dinner.

We recently stayed at Black Point Inn during the week of September 4th 2023. We ate breakfast at this restaurant three times and ate dinner here once. The restaurant staff were always smiling, friendly, accommodating and welcoming. The restaurant's interior dining area has a very simple, rustic decor style with some local artwork on display. The exterior dining area is on a terrace overlooking the bay. The breakfast offerings were very traditional, fresh, generous and always made with quality ingredients, which we enjoyed with every bite. A great example of this was the breakfast fruit platter, in which every single piece of fruit on the platter was at peak ripeness, freshness and sweetness. Next, allow me to describe our dinner experience. Our dinner reservations were honored and we were welcomed into the restaurant at the exact time of our reservation. As far as the dinner offerings are concerned, we were amazed by the original seafood creations and fusions of ingredients and colors used to create the dishes. We had the salt and vinegar kettle chips with clam dip, the Caesar salad, and the crab cakes as appetizers. For the main course, we ordered the salmon and tuna dishes that were on the menu, both of which were delicious and beautifully crafted. Dinner portions were also generous and very fresh, using only quality ingredients. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant when we next visit the hotel.

Our grilled Caesar shrimp was totally wilted... perhaps try flash-grilling, a quick minute on the grill that retains the crispness of the romaine. The Grilled Shrimp salad was very unimpressive, the dressing what like Applebees hot and spicy, not a Mascarpone/lime like the menu said. The fish tacos looked good. Chicken sandwich was strangely small and lacking fresh lofty lettuce. I'd expect more from the Chart Room, but I know staffing is challenging right now. We return for the view. The food last year was fantastic and very good, this year, not comparable.
