I’d like to start by recognizing Josephine and Kate They were a huge contribution to the experience being wonderful. The food and the drinks are really good. We enjoyed everything we ordered!! The atmosphere is beautiful with some original wallpaper and tin ceilings that really make the place quaint and take you back in time. I highly recommend coming here for dinner.

Mother's day brunch was a huge letdown. Haddock pan empty most of the time. Fried chicken under cooked and tasteless filet.

We celebrated Valentine’s Day at Dufour in South Berwick and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish.

The atmosphere is cozy, romantic, and intimate — exactly what you want for a special date night. We started with cocktails: a crisp lemon drop and the “Back to Black(berry),” which was hands down one of the best cocktails we’ve had.

For appetizers, we ordered the lollipop lamb and the black and bleu mussels. The lamb was tender with a perfect char, and the mussels were fresh and served in a rich, flavorful broth that we happily soaked up with bread.

For dinner, the baked stuffed haddock was incredible — filled with bay scallops and shrimp, topped with a lobster cream sauce, and served over silky pommes purée with haricot verts. It was indulgent without being heavy and cooked perfectly. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared.

We finished with a chocolate lava cake drizzled with raspberry coulis — warm, rich, and the perfect sweet ending to the night.

The service was warm and attentive, making the entire evening feel special without being over the top. Dufour is truly a gem in South Berwick. We’ll absolutely be back.

Had an incredible meal tonight! The service from Casey and support staff was exceptional, the food was so well prepared, elevated comfort food that hit the spot, and the lovely comfy booth was perfect for an intimate birthday celebration. The team made the birthday lady feel so special and taken care of. Thank you to the chefs, service team and everyone for a timeless dining experience!

Have had drinks here before, but tonight was the first time dining. We are vegetarian, and had splendid meals. Very rare to have a wide selection of outstanding vegetarian or pescatarian options on the menu, but this chef honors vegetarians with well thought out, carefully crafted meals. The entire meal was a delight, and we will return!

This place is a 4.5 We came for an early dinner. We were sat in front of the fireplace which was nice as the room was little cold. The food and service were very good. The server was pulling double duty as both the only server and the bartender. Service however did not suffer she was attentive and knowledgeable.

The food was very good. I had the Pork Chop special which i really liked and it was HOT and had a good taste. Not bland like I have experienced elsewhere.

My wife had the salmon and she loved it.

The dessert was a bread pudding it was ok. It had a tough outer crust which we got use to but prefer a softer version.

My only suggestion would be to lower the lighting to make the room a little more intimate, make me look better and let the fireplace standout as the center piece.

We will definitely return.

The room was very cozy with the fireplace. Menu was easily legible and the waitress was quick to explain if we had questions. We were told the specials, however the reason it's getting a four is when the table sat behind us was read the same specials but others were added too. We had already ordered or appetizers but we felt a little left out of the choices. Some of the muscles were really sandy too, I know it's hard to clean them well but it's worth a mention. The broth was amazing in them, but the toast seemed a bit generic if you will. Entrees were all exceptional, but the potato stack served with the filet needed a sauce as it was a bit dry. Overall it was all enjoyable and we will be back.

We could not find a place to eat breakfast on the ocean so we drove inland. This was our 3rd attempt to find a place to eat. We got right in for a table for two. Drinks were great food was great, service was amazing!

My visit here a few weeks ago, was ruined by our server, Jayden. I could not stop picturing her brittle, yellow bleach-blonde hair with overgrown roots, dirty clothes, and clownish makeup, disgustingly unprofessional.
Her fake, overly sweet attitude was grating. The food was decent, but Jayden’s unprofessionalism made it unenjoyable. I won’t return and don’t recommend it. Or keeping her around!

I can’t say enough nice things about the staff here! We recently held an event for close to fifty people and were treated so kindly with smiles and staff ready to help. The food is always amazing as are the crafted cocktails.

Cheryl and crew go above and beyond to serve with friendliness and quick attention. If you are considering a party here, you won’t find a more seamless and delightful place. With plenty of parking out back as well.

Gluten free and vegetarian options available. Handicap accessible. Kid friendly.

Worth every cent. We usually go for brunch and have ordered everything on their menu. All fabulous, but the avocado toast will bring you to your knees!
