Great food, great service, reasonable prices, and a family atmosphere. An excellent menu selection and an excellent choice of desserts. Highly recommended!

Food, atmosphere, and service were amazing! My husband had lost a coin that our daughter had given him there. He called them and they found it. They were so kind of holding it for him, and he came back to get it. He was a very Happy Dad! 10 out of 10! God bless all of you

I just happened to look through some old pictures on my phone, and decided I would like to leave a review.
Now, thinking back the last time I was in this great restaurant, was quite a few years ago….15 to be exact! I always loved the treat of going there for something different, with wonderful home cooked meals! A lot of people are later on in life, but they were all regulars and the servers knew them by name! I usually stuck with fried haddock or chicken tenders. And the rolls were so good and I can think about them right now…never failed!
As walking in, of course, they have the dessert case right there so you can have that on your mind, in case you chose to not all of their food and leave room to fit in some dessert or take something to go!
The service was always was fantastic and once you have had a server a few times, they get to know you and almost know what anyone was thinking! Very family oriented place to go!
Along with the service, I never had a bad experience with food! Just a place that you could take all your family to and know you were going to have leftovers and great experience with staff!
I know it is quite some time since I have been there, but I am going to have to bring my husband on a road trip, so he can experience!

I hate to leave a bad review because I actually love this place. Definitely my favorite restaurant in the Dover/Berwick area.

However, today we made the drive up from Portsmouth for lunch, only to discover they are now closed on Sunday & Monday. These are literally the only two days of the week I am in the area, as I live about an hour away. I can understand a restaurant closing on Monday, since that’s one of the slowest days… but every Sunday we have been has been packed.

The website claims they would like to give their employees more weekend time off, but I feel this can be done through better scheduling practices. Maybe offer a choice to them as to which weekend day they would like to work? It seems shortsighted to close on one of the busiest days of the week.

Prior to the change in hours, we probably ate a meal there once every 2-3 weeks. It’s a shame that we won’t be able to go anymore, because the food and service are fantastic.

I am very disappointed in this decision and I hope they reconsider in the future.

So I've been ordering take out from forgartys for years. Now, back then the food was very bland and the to go orders were constantly getting messed up. I'm talking every single time I picked up there was something missing or completely wrong. I've finally edited my review to match with current times and I must say after 6 years from my last review things have drastically changed. As new cooks and new staff have filtered through things have taken a turn for the better. The food is actually pretty tasteful and "knock on wood" but the staff have been better at double checking what should be in the take-out bags.

Overrated. They were out of alot of items. Food was subpar for the price.

This wa a family favorite growing up. Wish it kept with the times if you will and encouraged trying new things and a more manageable menu size. I got a salad and the lettuce was browning use spinach or Romain so much better for you too!! Love fogartys always will but definitely needs to lean into the more youthful population!
