So thankful to have this gem in South Berwick. Our go-to spot when we want a night out. The food is delicious and the staff is the best. Try the bolognese if it’s on the menu, and never forget the spaghetti with meatballs. Statue of David is a dream drink!

First time here, for date night. We dressed up but plenty of people were casual too. The place isn't huge, the decor was very nice inside. The menu is very limited, but what we had was good (chicken Parm, lobster fettuccini, adequate tiramisu). Prices weren't exactly cheap eats but not outrageous either. Service was friendly, maybe a little on the slow side. As others have mentioned there are no extras like bread offered for the table. I was also surprised there was no sangria on the menu like at most other Italian restaurants. When I asked about making a vegetable substitution in the fettuccini (broccoli instead of cherry tomatoes), there was a bit of hemming and hawing even though broccolini was part of several other dishes. They were able to accommodate in the end and it was delicious.

Overall a decent place, and nice to have something a little fancier local if you want to feel a little more upscale.

We had a lovely date night here. The foccacia was fantastic, and the roasted spiced carrots were some of the most flavorful vegetables I have had in years. I got the pork belly which was so incredibly delicious, the mostarda was insane. My girlfriend got the risotto which was creamy and perfectly cooked. We got the tiramisu for dessert which was the perfect cap to a really nice meal. Maine needs more restaurants like this. Highly recommend!

This place is a gem! First of all, it’s family friendly. Our server Kacey was outstanding with my two kids. She was very personable and went beyond. The food was delicious. The halibut was cooked perfectly. Risotto with the soffrito was delicious. The chicken parm was amazing! We also had the broccolini and ended up ordering two. The ambiance is really cool. It’s got a rustic old Maine feel with a farm to table feel. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Well done!

Kid-friendliness: Amazing people who are very helpful and friendly!

My husband and I stopped on Saturday evening. Loved the atmosphere as soon as we walked in. Server was attentive and helpful. Menue had interesting selections, different from those traditional Italian restaurants. All locally sourced - even the root beer was from So. Berwick. I ordered a delicious glass of Italian wine, and their seafood special which was halibut that evening-excellent. We saw a huge great looking salad go by. The people at the next table were raving about their entres. If you order a salad, you may want to share it. Same for the bread. Don’t get concerned when you order bread separately. It is a huge plate of homemade focaccia - an appetizer in itself. The portions are reasonable, but not overbearing - they are appropriate in size. If you are looking for a healthy delicious and special dinner, try them out. Prices were surprisingly reasonable. If you want heart attack food, all fried and overflowing, go somewhere else.

The food was delicious, and I’m picky, the price was very reasonable and the service staff was friendly. My only complaint was that the seating was uncomfortable. Bring your own cushion.

Very nice, attentive wait staff. The Focaccia was GREAT; fluffy, moist, well salted. The chicken parm was great as well! The shrimp scampi was unfortunately very mealy, but after sharing this feedback, the chef comped the dish, which was greatly appreciated. I would say check it out for sure!

We read about this restaurant in the latest issue of Down East Magazine, and the review was so complimentary, we thought we’d take the 40 min trip from the Kennebunks to try it. First of all, I don’t know what the reviewer was smoking, but our experience (food and atmosphere) was the polar opposite of what was described in the review. Speaking of polar, on a 90 degree, very humid Saturday afternoon, there was only one very tired Mitsubishi unit in the bar that was seriously out matched by the weather, the heat generated by the kitchen and the diners (even the hostess was fanning herself). Bottom line, it was down right HOT! Based on the above, I would say Hard Pass. Now to the food and drink: the bar selection is shockingly limited. The menu was only slightly less so. As a first course we ordered focaccia bread. It was dry, the butter was melted and the generic olive oil was in desperate need of doctoring. I had scampi that was ok, but because it was served in a small bowl, it was almost impossible to separate the shrimps’ heads and tails from the their bodies (tentacles were floating in abundance in the sauce). My dinner partner had chicken parm. The breading was gummy, the pasta, though declined when ordered, arrived over cooked. Again, both chicken and pasta were served in a small bowl which made it impossible to cut into bite sized pieces. Best yet, when parmigiana cheese was requested to sprinkle on top, there was an additional charge! We will not be returning anytime soon.
