Wanted to try here based on the good reviews for dinner at 6:45. Restaurant was half empty but our party of 5 was only given the option to sit at the bar and told we could not add a fifth chair to one of the several empty tables. Staff was somewhat rude and told us “good luck” when we decided not to eat.
The rudest greeting I’ve ever experienced. If you don’t want people to come in and eat at your restaurant then put up the closed sign. The red-headed bartender should be fired for the way we were treated.
Best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had! Fantastic staff, laid back atmosphere and an EXTENSIVE bourbon selection. Great view of the water. If you want a low key vibe with great food and spirits…. Make this your first stop!
It will probably take a while to get the food. But if you plan around a long wait, you will not be disappointed. Some of the best bread and potatoes I’ve ever had anywhere. Even with a good wait for the food. I’ll be back
Awful service. Went in for drinks and were told we HAD to sit at a table with a family although there were clearly other tables available. Surprised that this is the first impression they want to create for their patrons. Won’t be back.
Best fried chicken I've ever had! Fiddleheads, the biscuit. They really care about this food and their service.
Very rude staff. We attempted to go here as a group (a family of 4 and a family of 6). Staff told that for such a big group it would be over an hour wait. When we offered to split up, we were told that since we came in together, we HAD to be seated as a group of 10. We explained that we were actually 2 separate families who would stay separate and pay separately, and they still refused in the rudest manner possible. We had an amazing meal with very friendly staff across the harbor at Beal's instead.
Such a gem, best food on the island! Not tourist-y at all, and the views are amazing.

BRING YOUR COAT AND A BLANKET!! Only a space heater at the entry 🥶 😂 .
On the waterfront though AND OPEN YEAR ROUND. Great fried food, AWESOME chicken and waffles, local beers, and crab cakes (when on specials).
They have tinned fish if you're into that.

It was my first time visiting Peter Trouts and I was not disappointed! I ordered the pork chop sandwich and it may be the best thing I’ve ever eaten. The flavors were outstanding from the coating on the pork to the coleslaw and the pickle it all blends well.
Well done!!

This is a five star restaurant with a five star chef. Make sure you try the biscuits. I’ve never experienced better high-end food in a perfect casual waterfront restaurant.

Y'all this is the place to eat while in the area. I had the market fish sandwich and my husband had the crab cake. Not only was the food amazing the mustard sauce and their pickles were so good.

The fried chicken sandwich was one of the best I've had and their salads were also great. I saw The fried fish sandwich and I'll probably get that next time. Perfect place for lunch and a cold beer.

Not the best service. Took 2 hours to gwt food. Probably because it was busy but I don't know. I disliked half the food but good oysters.

First place that's wowed us since we've been on the island. The fish sandwich was big enough to make 4 sandwiches out of. If you want fancy, go elsewhere. If you want great food, go here.
