You just can't beat the fresh dishes, as you gaze out the cove. The desert is all homemade and it's very difficult, just having one. Great sea fare with this view is hard to beat.

Finding a Portuguese restaurant in Maine was a shocker, but I’m sure glad I found it. This quaint hideaway is right on the water so the view is beautiful and relaxing. If you like Portuguese food you have to try the seafood stew. Seafood is as fresh as it gets. Lobsters come in fresh off the boat everyday. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Great experience overall.

Everything here is top notch, from service, to drinks, to all of the food! The owner, Suzen makes all of the bread and desserts from scratch! The food is always fresh, no matter what you get and served hot!When you eat here, you're treated like family. A true hidden gem!

A nice experience overall. We stopped by for dinner and had the two most popular dishes (as listed on their menu). They were original Portuguese style dishes (one beef and one a fish stew). We enjoyed both dishes, but would rate them a 4 (not a 5). We enjoyed the setting, which is very small. My only comments were that the pricing was on the higher end, but the portions were very generous and we would come back again.

Amazing experience!! The view is breathtaking, the food was delicious! My family and I had lunch and it was so good we had to go back the next day for dinner. The freshest seafood we have ever had. The staff is very friendly. We will definitely be back on our next family vacation.

The view is to die for. So beautiful. Suzen was beyond hospitable. The homemade bread melted in my mouth. Calamari was amazingly tender and the scallops so flavorful. Omg those homemade desserts! I will be back!

The cockatoo serves delicious scallops with crab, and delicious appetizers. The view is spectacular, the staff are very friendly. This is our favorite restaurant this summer.

This is truly a hidden gem of the Stonington / Deer Isle area. Had an amazing experience! The service was amazing, even as busy as they were. Our drinks were perfect! The calamari appetizer was delectable! The coconut shrimp was to die for...and the bread! Oh the bread! I couldve made a meal out of that alone! Before you know it, dinner is coming. Our party had prime rib, cooked to perfection, baked scallops, so fresh, they melt in your mouth and I had fish & chips. The fish was just caught today and so very buttery, flaky and just amazing. You can tell that so much love goes into everything there... the bread and amazing selection of desserts are all homemade by the owner Suzen. Going here felt like entering her dining room , we all felt like family. If you are looking for a casual, yet top notch place to eat, I couldn't recommend this place enough! Wish I could give them more than 5 stars! Almost forgot to take pictures... got some of the food!!! Cannot wait to go back!

4 OF US SHARED THE BEST SANGRIA EVER WITH APPETIZERS TO DIE FOR AND TRADITIONAL AUTHENTIC PORTUGUESE FOOD. DON'T LEAVE THE ISLAND WITHOUT EXPERIENCING WHAT THEY HAVE TO OFFER. IT'S A GIFT TO THE PALLET THAT YOU WILL NEVER FORGET.

We love this place. The service is friendly, the food is outstanding and the views are to die for. My whole family loves the Cockatoo and we will be regulars. Suzen's desserts are extraordinary and worth saving room for.

The mussels were fantastic. And the Portuguese steak sandwich was phenomenal. Fresh seafood and fresh salad all from within a couple hundred yards. The Pistachio cake was amazing!! Fresh bread every day. Such a great spot. And the food just can’t beat it!
