We picked up take out food from here. It looked like a nice place inside from what I saw. The lobster rolls were good, my wife's favorite of the trip actually. The blueberry pie and pecan pie was really good and its made there.

This is a quiet, less discovered gem in Bass Harbor. There is a wonderful view of the harbor from the patio seating as well as several tables indoors. We visited twice - and were seated promptly. The staff was friendly and engaging. The mussels were excellent - great broth. The lobster was perfect - not overcooked. The Ketch fries are a delicious variation on regular fries.

Fun view of the bay, got to watch the sunset while seated outside. The seafood bisque was 4.5/5, the clam chowder was 3/5. The seafood pasta was like a 4/5, but the brussel sprouts were more like 2/5. Bread was made fresh, which was pretty good.

We stopped here after the lighthouse, thinking it was fairly priced and convenient. Big mistake.
The food was awful. Completely underseasoned, soggy, and bland. My boyfriend’s pasta with marinara tasted like nothing. This was inedible. I ordered haddock, but was brought a lobster casserole threw it away.
Every table around us had their orders wrong — including ours. The server kept saying “far out,” which honestly described how far away this place is from knowing how to cook.
To wrap it up, on the way home my boyfriend ate cold supermarket General Tso’s chicken — and even that was better.

This was the perfect hidden gem for our first night on mount desert island! We sat outside and got to wash the sun set over the bay and change colors constantly while we sat and ate our food.
We got the stuffed mushroom appetizer (so delicious), the bread for the table was warm and soft, we got a bass harbor fish sandwich (3 seafoods) and a lobster roll. The fries were perfect the sandwiches were yummy. The service was great.

Fantastic food with a beautiful view! We accidentally came across Seafood Ketch after taking a wrong turn. We both had the seafood baked casserole with their amazing fresh baked bread. It came with baked Brussels sprouts and a baked potato. Everything was great and a wonderful place to watch the sunset. Can’t believe more people don’t know about this place! Don’t miss it!
Visited on Friday 9/26/2025. Walked into the patio area with two dogs strollers and 2 people. We sat down at a table (which is what we have done in previous years). We saw waitresses going back and forth, but all totally ignoring us. I went inside and asked one of the waitresses for service. She came out and asked us what we wanted to order, without even giving us a menu. Not very happy at this point. We got menus and ordered drinks. We waited 15 minutes for the drinks, which we didn't receive, and just decided to leave.
A few years ago we ordered escargo. We received it, but mine was missing two. When I brought it up to the waitress, she didn't do anything about it.
Two bad experiences there. We will never return.
