Definitely gets busy so go when it isnt busy (we went at 2:45 and could find parking and seating). A little saltier than some of the other places we have gone to, but overall a good meal and a good environment.

We were in Bar Harbor for 3 days, and went to 3 different lobster pounds, all highly recommended. Thurston's was above and beyond the other 2. The view and setting were exactly what we were looking for. The prices were on par with the other other lobster pounds. This is a 30+ minute drive from Bar Harbor, but well worth the effort. We arrived there between 3:30 and 4:00, so the crowd was minimal.

If we go back to Bar Harbor, I'd be eating at Thurston's every day.

Read this before going!

They now close at 8 PM, so plan to get there early. Expect about an hour wait, but it’s worth it—the lobster and crab are some of the best I’ve had. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality makes up for it.

One thing to know: you pay before getting a table, and then they bring the food out to you. Pro tip—skip the long ordering line by placing your order at the bar and grabbing a table from there.

Overall, pricey but delicious, and definitely a must-try if you’re craving seafood.

I went there to try my first Lobster Roll. It was very expensive that's why I only give 3*. It was good though. Parking lots were scarce.

On an Acadia mountain hike I overheard a local hiker talking about Thurston’s with friends. Figured it must be good if it’s where a local takes their guests. It did not disappoint. This place has it all: good prices, fresh seafood, great harbor view, and nice seating. Parking is tight and it’s a bit of drive. But so worth it. Arrive early for dinner to avoid longer lines.
