Alsace Restaurant Reviews
Fabulous meal. One of the best in the Midcoast area. Amazing wine list to boot!!
My husband and I chose to go here for our 10th anniversary. He made it clear while making the reservation that it was our anniversary. We arrived, and we’re seated at a table in the back. Before we went in, we were a bit taken aback by the look of the place, which was not impressive at all. Alsace Restaurant serves authentic Alsatian cuisine, with dishes like tart flambé that evoke the flavors of the Alsace region. The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. This wonderful gem is run by a couple, a chef from France and his wife who is a sommelier. The chef grows most of his own vegetables and processes his meat himself showing a dedication to quality ingredients. The food is superb, with a limited but absolutely wonderful menu. This is German-French comfort food: cassoulet, duck confit, Jager schnitzel, and french onion soup. The shared plate goat cheese is heavenly. The bacon wrapped pork was so juicy and flavorful. Portions are generous. The desserts are also amazing, with a chocolate mousse so light. The restaurant has a cozy interior and lovely ambiance, making it feel like being transported to Alsace. Service is swift and courteous. Table reservations are recommended.
