Best bread ever!
We love Borealis bread, particularly their rosemary loaves. Have been buying their breads for many years. Like to buy their bread at their Waldoboro bakery where offered their bread at half price at the beginning of covid19 to help people unable to work when many workplaces closed. That’s community spirit.
Ok, so I've never been to the actual bakery, but I have been buying this brand of bread from local stores for a little while now. I was really liking it at first, but the last couple times I bought some, it has had a really strong bleach taste. I bought some French Peasant and noticed it, thought maybe it was just this type. I just bought some Aroostok Wheat yesterday and I'm noticing the same taste. I'm not sure if they use bleach while cleaning surfaces or equipment, but I'm almost wondering if there's some cross contamination. That, or something during the process of making the bread has been causing it to taste like bleach. Either way, I am disappointed and probably won't be buying this brand anymore.
Amazing cookies, bars, and muffins.
My daughter works there it's a great place
OMG. We have been coming to Maine for the past few years and make it a point to stop for bread and rolls. Is there an adjective better than outstanding. If so…

It was my first time there. Food is great, prices a little high and service wasn't necessarily friendly but prompt.
Great bread but a little pricey
Really good place to stop. Their sandwiches are awesome. Fresh baked bread and treats. It is always on our todo list when in mid coast Maine.
Borealis Breads is always one of our first stops when staying in mid-coast Maine. Every variety of bread they sell is heavenly. Sure you can buy a loaf a mile down the road at the supermarket, but nothing beats entering the store and inhaling the intoxicating scent of bread baking and buying a loaf that is still warm. We often stop there when leaving Maine to buy a couple of loaves of Rosemary bread to freeze and enjoy back home.
Delicious and fresh bread at a reasonable price!
