The Frog & Turtle

First time here. I enjoyed the atmosphere so much that I forgot to take pictures! I had a peach-cinnamon mimosa, which was delicious! Tried the It's Cheesy flatbread. It was a great combo of cheeses , spinach and garlic! Highly recommend! Promise to be back and post pictures next time.

Must mention Jamie the bartender, who was not only whitty, personable but he really knew his cocktails!

Donuts, French toast with Maine blueberry sauce, the lumberjack breakfast with coffee. Great atmosphere and the service was good! Love all the flags outside ????

I went early, service was nice and laid back. I got a flat bread, food was good, just a little bland. I would go back, but would try something else.

Went for dinner and ordered one drink each asked for water too which took a long time to get to us. Ordered burgers which were good and flatbreads which were very very doughy not much for toppings. Took over 2 hrs to get our food! Plus live music started and was super loud and people next table over asked band to lower volume! Service was abysmal and would not return!

Food was not good. When we complained waiter was indifferent and contentious. A mistake on the bill was responded to by the statement " well you ate it didn't you?" Never going back and sharing my experience with everyone

Solid menu, good beer selection, good cocktails, and very friendly staff. Personally, with a space as big as theirs, I prefer tables a little closer together, but that's just an opinion. We did have a small issue with our food where the appetizer wasn't available, so the kitchen ticketing system must have put our replacement appetizer last in line. That's something that may be a one off issue, but it did mean it pushed out our entrees. We ended up waiting about an hour from order to food on the table. Again, not great, but probably just a one time issue and I wouldn't count it against the staff. Definitely still worth a try if you're in Westbrook!

We were a part of 6, seated promptly. The waitress was by far, the worst. She brought us room temperature water, when asked to bring ice water, she rolled her eyes, and brought cooler water, no ice. She brought wrong drink to table, never smiled, appeared we were inconveniencing her. When she brought our food, ordered another drink, never brought it until we went to the bar to remind her. Bartender was more interested in watching a game on tv. After she brought out food, she never followed up to see how it was. She rolled her eyes at us 3 separate times! Food was unacceptable. Medium burger was rare, Mac n cheese was cold, haddock was flavorless.

Upon arrival, immediately greeted and seated. In a booth by the windows. Nice Immediately greeted by our server. Enjoyed a glass of wine first. The four of us ordered the F&T burger. Salad and onion ring sides. Perfectly cooked and wonderful! My husband ordered the crème brûlée. Wonderful as well. We truly enjoy dining at the Frog and Turtle. Great staff, great location, great food. Always excellent.

This is the absolute best place in the world for brunch! Everything is made from scratch and to order and the food is beyond excellent. The chef, staff, service and atmosphere are all an absolute must do! If you go once you will keep going back! I love the food, the place and most of all the people here!!!

I ordered ribeye (43.00), but they were out and they offered strip steak instead(43.00). I ordered medium, my friend ordered medium rare. Both were tough. Like saw through the steak tough. I left mine uneaten. When I complained, after several minutes trying to flag our waiters attention, and by that time, everyone had finished eating, I was told that since they were cooked correctly, there was nothing they could do. Another friend ordered the small plate but was charged and served the large plate. When he asked to be charged for the small plate, the waiter informed him that he shouldn’t have eaten it. Considering the waiter rarely came to our table, were we supposed to just stare at the food? Our table of 7 was also charged 20% tip to honor our server who at the end copped an attitude.

I ordered the ribeye, but they ran out and so they served strip steak. I ordered medium. My friend ordered medium rare. Both were tough and chewy. Another friend ordered a cup of chowder and a chicken small plate. When the soup arrived it was in a 6” diameter bowl and I said “that's a cup?” So when his meal arrived and it too was generous we assumed that was the policy. After serving the food, the waiter did not come back to see how everything was. It took me a while to flag him down to complain about my $43.00 steak. He said it was cooked perfectly and he could do nothing about it. When the bill came, my friend was charged for the full chicken plate and when he said something, the waiter replied “well, you ate it didn't you?”. The waiter served it, how were we supposed to know??? Service was slow. We arrived at 530, another couple in our group 5:40, but we didn't get our check untill almost 730. The waiter mostly ignored us. Table of 7, he was guaranteed a 20% tip automatically.

We were there for a birthday celebration things weren't 100% peachy but our server made all the difference in the world
We'll be back to give it another try and hopefully get the same server he was great
