First time here, probably the last time. Ordered takeout, walked in the entrance and over towards the bar/where they seat people, two employees looked right at me, but didn't acknowledge me or say anything, waited about 3 minutes before someone came out from out back and even asked me what I needed. Ordered the brisket/house sausage meal combo with mini cornbread muffins and beans. Immediately tried once I got out to my vehicle in the parking lot, sausage was lukewarm and flavorless, mini cornbread muffins were cold, brisket was a bit overcooked but still okay, and the beans were the best part. Proof once again that Maine does not know how to do barbecue. Price was too expensive for what I got, both quality and quantity. I was really looking forward to a new spot for good barbecue, but unfortunately I won't be going back.

Real BBQ. Three of us shared the big sampler and brought about half of it home. The only thing we left behind were the cornbread mini-muffins which were dry (and the only disappointment of our visit). BBQ sauce was on the side, like it should be. The taste was smoky, like it should be. The sides were good, especially the collard greens. The banana pudding (with real vanilla wafers!) was a delightful treat that I probably haven't had since childhood. Like Douglas MacArthur, I shall return.

Overall great barbecue, chicken serving was smallest which is surprising since it's the cheapest kind of meat.

Only giving this place a bad review because I got the WORST food poisoning from here ! Honestly food wasn’t bad but it was absolutely disgusting coming back up ALL DAY LONG . Service was meh but also only one person working so she seemed stressed she also forgot to put in my friends order . It was definitely a cute place though . Would I go back ? Absolutely NOT I also don’t recommend unless you really enjoy a spicy fart and puking it all back up the next day .

Great ribs! (Some of the best I’ve had) … just the right amount of smoke. Carolina golden sauce is awesome. Friendly staff and I really liked the general vibe. Doing takeout today but would def dine in.

I am reluctant to try new restaurants in the area. Usually I can prepare a meal just as well myself. But BBQ is something I don't have time to prepare properly. Usually I save BBQ for visiting my son in SW Virginia. But the urge for BBQ was palpable and we decided to give Paper City a go. We were really surprised at how good the ribs were. A nice smokey flavor with a tinge of sweetness before any sauce. There was a good selection of sauces that we did use though. Sides were excellent as well. We will return. Thanks.

We stumbled across the restaurant and decided to try it. The brisket, burnt ends and the sides were absolutely fantastic! Oh yeah the beer was cold.
The price for everything was cheap. I’ll be going back for sure.

Happened upon this restaurant. Lo & behold, it was amazing! Beans were fantastic. Burnt ends succulent and the brisket was fabulous!
I’m a cole slaw snob, and this one was 5 stars!
We will come back!

Got the brisket and chicken dinner. Both were dry taste and textures add it seem like it was not recently smoked. Also the sides tasted like store bought. Mac and cheese was the only decent side. Even the cornbread was soggy and pink and green from sitting in the pickle and onion juice on the plate. I always try a place at least twice so maybe they were having an off night. Will update next time I go. But seems more like a bar that serves bbq than a bbq place. I would recommend you start with a small order they could have been having a bad night.

We’re not from the area and stumbled upon this hidden little gem after the place we were originally planning to go to was closed. Bartenders were great, food was delicious, and the all day happy hour specials were a plus. I had the smash burger, my boyfriend had the PBLT both with mac n cheese and it was so tasty! You could taste the smoky flavor in the pork belly and their homemade bbq sauces were a yummy addition. Bonus: they sell their homemade whisky/bourbon nips to go. We left with the werthers infused bourbon and can’t wait to try it! Would definitely come back if we were in the area again.

They have a fridge with mystery 2$ beers. That's called respect.

The food can be very good but sometimes it's inconsistent. The main reason I'm leaving a low review is the last time I was there the bartender never checked to see if I wanted a beer. I tired to make eye contact and speak up but no luck. I understand that it can be busy but people should still be able to get service.

This places has some positives but it's hard to rate it higher when I couldn't even get a beer sitting at a bar.

Parking: You need to park on the side of the street or nearby.
