Real BBQ. Three of us shared the big sampler and brought about half of it home. The only thing we left behind were the cornbread mini-muffins which were dry (and the only disappointment of our visit). BBQ sauce was on the side, like it should be. The taste was smoky, like it should be. The sides were good, especially the collard greens. Great ribs! (Some of the best I’ve had) … just the right amount of smoke. Carolina golden sauce is awesome. Friendly staff and I really liked the general vibe. Doing takeout today but would def dine in.
I am reluctant to try new restaurants in the area. Usually I can prepare a meal just as well myself. But BBQ is something I don't have time to prepare properly. Usually I save BBQ for visiting my son in SW Virginia. But the urge for BBQ was palpable and we decided to give Paper City a go. We were really surprised at how good the ribs were. A nice smokey flavor with a tinge of sweetness before any sauce. There was a good selection of sauces that we did use though....
