Had some Pho, was pretty good but on the sweeter side, and just on the pricier side. Environment is friendly and easy going.

Banh xeo was very good. They use mushrooms!

Spring rolls are commoner friendly!

Brian and I stopped by PHOever Maine for dinner on Wednesday, arriving a bit late around 8:10 PM, just an hour before their 9 PM closing.
Despite our late arrival, the two waitresses were incredibly friendly and welcoming – we never felt rushed, even as we stayed until closing.
I ordered the Shaken Steak Tips (Bò Lúc Lắc), and the beef was perfectly soft and delicious. Brian opted for the Chicken Pho and absolutely raved about the broth. To top it off, my Lychee Martini was fantastic; I loved both my dish and drink.
Next time I'm in Portland, PHOever Maine will definitely be on my list. Highly recommend their beef!

Saw the nice reviews and was excited to visit. I’ve ordered the wonton soup and the house stir fry with the flat noodles and beef. I was alone in the restaurant at that point. I was surprised to get both dishes together, although I’ve heard the kitchen bell a few minutes earlier, but the waitress was busy on her phone and didn’t bother getting up, so I ended up getting them at the same time. At the end I’ve asked why they both were served at the same time, and she replied that it’s the chef decision and she has no say about it. Anyway, the broth was fairly tasty though oddly the wontons meat managed to be dry and chewy. The stir fry was salty, the noodles way too soggy and beef was chewy and felt of low quality… high expectations > high disappointment. Needless to say it wasn’t worthy the 15 minutes drive…

As a former New Yorker, I've found my new favorite pho restaurant! The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The food is flavorful and comforting. I will be a regular at PHOever Maine.

I ordered take out. I must say the house pan fried dumplings are spot on and delicious, the house spring rolls were ok (the peanut sauce had a sour note that was a bit surprising). The lady di was absolutely fantastic and the beef in it was so flavorful. I also ordered a beef Bahn mi but they sent me pork instead, very disappointed since it wasn't what i wanted but it was still good. Looking forward to trying some of their other dishes in the future, heard they have great pho.

Seriously?! Serve me one bowl of pho worth of herbs with a double order?!

I'll probably never return.

I used to come in twice a week when I worked in Westbrook. Id rather go to veranda noodle bar at this point.

Not enough seafood in the PHO bowl. It tasted alright.

Unfortunately I came at a busy time and my pho was rushed.

Pros: pho broth tasted good. On the sweet profile. Good gold clear color. Meat taste good and nicely done on the med rare beef cuts

Cons: noodles were rushed and not fully cooked.
Bit expensive for a 20 dollar bowl of pho and the quantity was a bit small on a large.
Base price for the special is 18, to me that’s too steep, for that price the noodle should be check if cooked properly at least.

Great place. Ordered the pho with chicken, and the vegetarian spring rolls for a pick up/late lunch on a busy day. Was ready quickly and packed well for travel which kept everything fresh. Put together the pho at home- Sprouts crunchy, chicken tender, noodles perfectly cooked. Spring rolls and sauce delish. Friendly staff.

There are several vietnamese restaurants in the area but to me PHOever Maine is head and shoulders above the rest. Their food is consistently excellent, their restaurant is clean and pleasant, their prices are good, and the service is good. I like that they handwrite notes for their take out orders and that they have fun names for a lot of their dishes.

I’m not from the area, so I was apprehensive as to whether the pho I got would be any good, but I was absolutely blown away by what I received. The addition of the culantro in the herbs really excited me since most places substitute with cilantro! Broth was aromatic and not heavy, just like southern Vietnamese pho should be. Highly recommend and I know I’ll be back tomorrow! I would add a photo but my soup was gone minutes after I started eating it
