Unless you like sitting next to the kitchen and the lobster listening to the ice machine, make an ice. They obviously can’t handle large groups if you go in as a large group break up by fours or twos because you’ll be waiting three hours to Sit down and then another hour to eat. Sad part about it is my husband and I love this place. We were bragging it up to my son and when we went there, we had the worst experience ever.
It's an average place with nothing that stands out in terms of flavor, service or atmosphere.
We decided to have dinner here since we were in the area on a vacation day, but not having done any planning for dinner we saw the reviews on Google and it seemed to be a good choice.
The parking lot was just about full but there was a spot for us. There was a wait for an outside table but we could be seated immediately inside if we choose, and so we were seated at a high table by the front windows.
It was pretty busy in there but the waitress seemed to handle it all well and got our drinks and took our order. It didn't take long and we got our food. Everything looked great and it all came at the same time and was hot, even though we ordered a mix from the appetizer menu and a couple other main dish items to have them all together.
Everything we had was very tasty and cooked well. We ordered jalapeño Rangoon, Shark Bites, Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, Seafood Chowder, and the pick 3 Combo Fried Seafood Dinner. I doubt that would have been more satisfied with any other choice.
Definitely recommend and would go back when in that area again.
Came in a Saturday. Waited an hour to get any food and we ordered appetizers. Manager was unapologetic stating they were busy, but they should be upfront with how long the wait for food would be. We would have gone elsewhere if told upfront.
My neice and I ate at Bob's about 2 yrs ago...It was pretty good so about a yr ago we were going to try it again but it was closed so we went to the restaurant right across the street The Lake House Tavern which was absolutely delious !
Today we thought we'd try Bob's again...which was a huge mistake ! We shared a dinner of haddock and clam strips, slaw and at an extra cost onion rings. It was beyond disgusting!!!! The fish was as dry as sawdust.. with absolutely NO TASTE. !
My neice thought the clam strips were just fried batter and the slaw was like the fish ..NO TASTE. Both weren't worth the time it took to eat them. Now to the onion rings...you had to try to hold the batter on them while eating or it would all fall off leaving and oily sliver of onion.
To add Icouldn't even finish my fish. Also we ordered the jalapeño Rangoon these were tasty but consider this..
They cost $12.99 for only 5 !!
So add $12.99 plus tip and tax and your talking over $16.00 for 5 Rangoon. Kinda ridiculous if you ask me.
We both were so disappointed and agree...WE WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN...!
My wife and I have been eating at your place since you open 20+ years ago. We came in today for a pint of clams and fries and were disgusted with the quality of what was delivered to us. The clams were well overcooked to the almost burnt State and Hot as a rock. The fries were equally as bad it was takeout, and if this is the type of service you have now gotten to unit you better check your cooks and tell them they better learn how to cook your food the way you used to.
As someone who was born and raised in Maine this is my favorite spot to go for seafood! I don't eat out anymore but I will still go to Bob's seafood sometimes because they always have friendly service and amazing food no matter what I order!
May 12, 2025 . out of nearly 200bucks spent . 3 of our 5 platters were beyond cremated burnt soggy old oil . , Mom's day dinner wasn't so great . We called next day ,they said they'd replace the 3 Burnt meals next time we were in .. update . Waiting now and they can't find our credit , written down ? Somewheres in office maybe? . Nope grrrr.
Everything was wonderful. The food, the atmosphere and the staff. It's a great place for a great meal. Can't wait to head back!

MAYBE YOU JUST GOT TO CATCH THIS PLACE ON A GOOD DAY. BUT I DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE GOING BACK
$12.95 for a bowl of lukewarm clam chowder that tasted exactly like it came from a can. Awful! The rest of our table wasn't overly impressed either--the whole belly clams weren't fresh and the haddock was meh.
