Kind of gross when a barista puts Vaseline on her lips using her finger and doesn’t wash her hands after, then proceeds to touch the espresso bar… good latte though.

Years ago this was a great spot, but now you're better off getting Lunchables from Hannaford or making your own sandwich at home instead of ordering this pretentious, overpriced garbage. Save your money!!

Food so so. Baked goods all too sweet and not much choice. Whole set up is self serve and kind of chaotic. Seating area is dismal. Expensive.

There is parking in the back but it fills up fast. The food is average but the service is great! The staff had smiles on their faces and that was really nice to see.The grill was down so we had limited options on ordering- mostly cold stuff. Not ideal during winter months but things break down and life goes on.It was crowded and had a small area to eat so we ate in our car.I bought a ginormous cookie :)

This is the second time I've been here. I have never experienced such rude staff.

I’ve been going to Clayton’s since it was on Main St., and lately I’ve been disappointed with the food quality, particularly breakfast. My egg sandwiches have not been very tasty; in fact, the egg tasted like a microwaved egg substitute and the bread was fair. For the money I spent, I expected a whole egg like at other local breakfast spots. If I wanted a fast food egg sandwich, I would have gone elsewhere. The overall quality has gone down and it’s a bummerParking: Parking lot is somewhat of a mess

This place is very good! I think their prices have gotten a little steep over the past year (25% +/- increase) but the food quality has stayed excellent and their service is very good. I will continue to come here as long as the doors are open!

Went here for breakfast. It seems more of a meeting spot than a cafe. I mean, they have a menu obviously, but for breakfast it is only breakfast sandwiches and bakery items. A lot of people were there chatting when we arrived and when we left, nursing coffee, so it is like Starbucks that way. With not much sitting and tables on top of each other, it is, like I say, more of a meeting spot. The sandwich was good as far as that goes. The variety was in what you can have in it and what bread you want it on. You order at the counter and use their self-service carafes for basic coffees, like at a gas station convenience store. They have take-home only lunch/dinner items like meat loaf available also. If you are fine with the limited menu (though of high quality) and sitting on top of other people and maybe waiting for a table, I recommend it.

My husband and I stopped through for a quick meal on the way out to Acadia and- I must say- the customer service here was EXCEPTIONAL! We both eat a very low carb diet and Polly in particular was so accommodating in explaining all the ways we could modify our meal to fit into our way of eating. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. I'm somewhat of a steak snob and took a risk with low price sirloin for breakfast, which was expertly cooked, juicy, and tender. The outside area also proved to be a beautiful place to relax for a moment in the crisp fall air. I highly recommend stopping by this spot for a home-cooked, served-with-love meal if you're passing through!Dietary restrictions: Modifications were welcomed!Kid-friendliness: Plenty of space to accommodate a family meal

I totally get that ordering breakfast in a busy establishment on a Saturday morning would require a wait time. But ordering an uncut, untoasted, unadulterated bagel in a bag really shouldn't take 15 minutes. Especially when there are staff just standing there at the register. What a ridiculous system. Also, getting a refund involves going to a different long line/register than the one where you made your purchase and waiting in that line. Enjoy your $3.51 Claytons.

I stopped here for lunch on a Friday at noon. I saw on their menu a Thai chicken satay sandwich, which I ordered. The sandwich was $12, without any chips or any other side dish. It was toasted bread but when I was handed the sandwich, nothing on it was warm. The chicken was a thin piece of chicken breast, as DRY as could be. There was one piece of tomato on each half of the sandwich, and some reddish colored, which tasted like bottled, somewhat peanuty type sauce. When they handed me the sandwich, I expected it to be a little bit warm but it was cold through and through. The bread was hard because it was toasted, and the sandwich was completely unremarkable. But the worst part, was that I ordered a lemon bar, which was $6, and couldn't help but nibble on it when I was waiting for my sandwich, which took 20 minutes. As I ate, I had to spit out the lemon bar, because there were pieces of METAL in the lemon bar! I actually brought the lemon bar back to the counter and showed it to them and they asked me if I wanted another one (really!?) but I asked for a refund. I even showed them the metal inside the lemon bar, small strips of silver metal, which I could definitely feel in my mouth. I'm just hoping I didn't ingest some of them and hope to not have a problem later today! I've tried to Clayton's a handful of times, and each time I've been underwhelmed and very disappointed. There are so many other good places nearby, I would never chance going here again! Cold sandwiches and metal strips inside my dessert is not my idea of a good meal!!!

Some Gluten free options, breakfast and lunch. Large iced tea( equivalent to McDonald's small) $3.50 . Jumbo muffins. I had a blueberry one and an orange cream. They were very dense and did not taste any orange. Blueberry was better, a lot of berries but again very dense for my taste.

Great food when it is actually open when they say they are. I do not understand how you can be open until 3 but shut down for food at 2:30. Then you don't close at 3. They need to be honest about their hours. Just my opinion.

I use to go here all the time when I worked next door. I haven't got a chance to come in since the new ownership a year ago and decided to try it out today. Unfortunately, something got lost in translation. There have been a few updates made to the store. Including the seating. There is now a lot more seating outside. Which is nice, as they were quite busy. I ordered a cup of clam/haddock chowder and a curry chicken salad sandwich. Total was $20. Which is pretty much the same as it was before. They mentioned it would be about 20 minutes, but it was about 10. Quick service a plus. When I got home with my food I finally got to check it out. The sandwich (Curry Chicken Salad) is REALLY small. (Photo included). It was smaller than my hand. For $12, that's really crazy. I'd rather have paid more to get an actual sandwich than get "shrinkflation". The sandwich was also okay, but was pretty bland. Barely any curry flavor, at all. Now the chowder. I LOVED there soups. Always so fresh and so good. This was not that. It clearly spoiled at some point. The chowder itself was split, and it smelled and tasted sour. Working for restaurants all my life, I can quickly tell when a soup has spoiled. It was really bad. I loved this location a lot. It was a go to for me. Unfortunately, with the new ownership must have come some big changes in how they make their food; as it's very small portions, bland, and in some cases, spoiled. I loved recommending this location to tourist that come to my work, but I won't be able to do that anymore after this experience.
