Excellent location and ample space for groups small and large. There were not enough staff on hand to support a busy Friday dinner however. Server was pleasant and responsive, although simply too many tables to accommodate her efforts. Everything from drinks to apps to entrees took far too long. It appeared they needed 2-3 more staff in order to meet demand. Food was excellent and menu had plenty of variety.

Our waitress was fabulous! Our door not so much. It was okay, but with so many wonderful eating establishments around the area, the food quality is just okay and the prices are high. Dishes ordered were salad with grilled shrimp and walnuts, a haddock sandwich, and I ordered the lobster croissant with Cole slaw. I loved the Cole slaw.

Brought my friends to Muddy River for a college reunion. Had beautiful weather and sat outside. Our server, Tina, was fantastic! She was attentive, available when we needed anything but also gave us lots of time to catch up and be together. Our lunch was wonderful! Thank you!

We love the Muddy Rudder! It's our "go to" place! We sat outside so that's why we said "quiet." Food is always consistently very good. Waitstaff are always pleasant.

Excellent seafood, not the usual. The tuna nachos were to die for.

Great service and excellent food! You can pay more but you will not get better. Oysters were best we ever had. Great selection of local, fresh seafood. Staff treat everyone like friends and neighbors. We'll make a point of stopping here whenever we are visiting.

I genuinely wouldn't recommend it, we waited there for an hour after ordering and the food never came. Not to mention the biteing insects and flies that bothered us while waiting. The restaurant is a little worse for ware on the outside, and it clearly shows on the inside. The waiters were slow to serve the other customers . Waiting 50+ minutes for overpriced food really isn't worth your time??

The food and service here are outstanding! They could use some updating to the inside of the building. We would definitely recommend this place and will definitely return!

Had the risotto with peas and asparagus (creamy and delicious) and added grilled salmon (asked for medium rare, perfectly cooked inside with a crispy grill on the outside.) My husband had the seared scallops (also beautifully cooked) with tasty succotash. Sat outside to enjoy the perfect weather. Couldn't have asked for anything to make the dining experience better; this is as good as it gets!

Had drinks and a snack here. Place was pretty slow for a Friday. Views are ok and the prices were fair.

Everyone enjoyed this place. We ate outside overlooking a quiet river. We had a brief shower, but the umbrella kept the rain off. We had drinks and seafood, all of which were enjoyable. I had the fish tacos. The tacos had haddock for the fish, soft tacos with a great sauce that matched perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We will definitely visit again.

What a great restaurant! We had bacon bloody Mary’s, lobster, baked haddock and the crème brûlée. Everything was so good. If I’m ever around there again I would love to stop. Staff is friendly and prompt. We had the pleasure of sitting outside on a beautiful day

I had the marinated steak cubes. They were the bomb! Most juicy and cooked to perfection.
