We have been diners at AG for over 20 years. Tonight was the most disappointing experience we have had. The meatball appetizer was clearly reheated and tough. The California Reuben was soggy and forgettable. Usually the food is top notch. Something was way off tonight. Not your norm.

My fish and chips were good (I subbed garlic mashed potatoes). My wife thought her pulled pork and mac and cheese was good. My son was underwhelmed by the Philly cheesecake sandwich. I was disappointed that the server did not ask if I wanted a second grade and simply took my beer glass away. This is a nice local place, but simply did not deserve a five star review.

Met the kids here for lunch a month ago or so and the food was delicious. Especially the Brooklyn Reuben, which is why I couldn't wait to return. Went again last week, the Brooklyn Reuben was served with pastrami that was thick, tough, and had a 1/2 to 3/4 inch rind of fat on the pastrami. The employee nicely offered to remake it when I brought it to the counter and showed her the large pieces of fat. I chose a similar Reuben made with corned beef. The corned beef sandwich had chewey chunks of tough fat throughout also, but not nearly like the pastrami. But still, the type of sandwich that you have to take a bite, chew it for a while, and spit the inedible tough part back onto your plate. Every bite. I soldiered through, didn't want to return my sandwich twice, I'm not usually much of a complainer and I was hungry. But it sure was disappointing after that first visit.

From appetizers to the main course, Schnitz Ada Grill far surpassed our expectations. This "two-in-one" gem operates as a deli by day (11–4) and transforms into Ada's fine-dining destination by evening (4–9). The menu offers an extensive variety of options, and everything we tried was outstanding. A standout was the hot goat cheese dip—easily one of the best appetizers we’ve ever had. We also loved their creative twists on traditional favorites. It is clearly some of the most delicious food we’ve eaten recently, thanks to their commitment to fresh ingredients and precise preparation. Our dinner highlights included the Wagyu Sirloin, Salmon Risotto, Steak Tortellini, and Chicken Piccata—all of which are absolute must-tries. For lunch, their Fish and Chips are the best we’ve tasted since visiting Inverness, Scotland. Between the exceptional food, attentive staff, and perfect cozy ambiance, Schnitz Ada Grill offers a delightful experience from start to finish. Once you visit, you’ll only wish you had discovered it sooner.

Update 12/5/25 stopped for a take out order, sandwich, salad and carrot cake. Salad we asked for mixed greens in place of romaine but what we got was neither, and wring dressing as well. French dip the meat was dry and tough, and chips were not included. Now thinking that take out must just not be their thing, so simple to check over order before giving to customer. Everything we asked for was noted on receipt. Carrot cake was great as usual. Try harder, do better and you’ll have happy customers.
A few days ago we stopped on a Friday late afternoon for a take out order. We do this every few months when in the Ada area. This time we had a Greek salad with a few minor changes, which were noted on the order slip, read back to me when I picked up the order. Unfortunately the employee didn’t actually look at the salad to verify it was correct, which it wasn’t. Management should order a take out from Licari’s to see how they insure your order is correct. We’ll still be customers as the food is very good, but do our own verifying while still at the restaurant.
Love eating at this place. Rustic factory ambiance and great food. My favorite their piled high gourmet sandwiches.

The elevator ride up Was dirty and scary. I had the Bronson street ribeye sandwich ribeye sandwich. A lot More bun than ribeye. The ribeye was tender. Horseradish sauce tasted more like mayo. My friend had chicken piccata and could barely taste any lemon on the sauce. Overall she said it tasted good. Waitress was very good when she was around. Took her about 15 minutes to check back with us after receiving our food. Wasn’t anywhere in the dining room. She may have been hostessing as well as it was busy. Keep trying to improve!

First time visit this place. Very spacious with many spots to sit. I noticed many group events/ friends are hanging out for lunch. I ordered the Chicago Reuben and a side potato salad. 10/10. I would love to come back to try more sandwiches. I was there during lunch rush hour, which took some time to get my food. Overall, a great place to hang out to catch up with a friend.
