We stopped in Adrian to pick up an online purchase at Staples and decided to get a bite to eat. We chose the Country Skillet because they were close and just had that sound of a good, down-to-earth family restaurant. Wow! We were not disappointed!! We had a lovely waitress who did a great job, the coffee was superb (and they provide french vanilla creamers!) and the prices were amazing compared to the mainstream. We both ended up ordering the grilled chicken breast dinner, which was two small breasts, and it came with choice of potato (we chose au gratin - or "cheesy"), vegetable, good-sized salad and rice pudding. All that for $9.99! And, it all tasted great! The restaurant was well-lit and the bathrooms were very clean. We know that the next time we're in Adrian where we'll stop for food! My omelet was very good. My husband loved his French toast. Friendly staff and enjoyed talking to the two men seated across from us.
So definitely love the food at this place, but called for a pick up order at 7:15; late but not too late, for 2 gyro plates. Called the FIRST time and was put on hold for a minute. (no big deal) It then got disconnected, so I called back and then got hung up on AGAIN but whatever, wanted that gyro, so I remained patient. OK, so I called again, and for the THIRD TIME and they thought they hung up on me again. What they didn’t realize, was that they left the phone on, but since they didn’t know that, I could hear them saying how they didn’t want to do anymore orders, plus a few other unsavory things. I didn’t want to bash them totally, but thought everyone should know the extremely unprofessional service I, the unfortunately, have experienced today. I hope this review will give them the incentive to do better on the customer service side of their business.

Waited for a table Saturday, 3 of us. No one even acknowledged we were there. Waited 10 minutes and left. Waitress told one person go to McDonald's if you don't like it. Won't be back.

My partner ordered one of the specials and asked waitress if he could substitute soup for coleslaw. Waitress said absolutely not as she was not allowed to. Then we heard same waitress allow two other tables to swap out the soup for something else. When our meal was served we had no silverware. The waitress forgot my parmesean cheese and I had to ask for it. Then I noticed that the lid on the cheese shaker had green mold on it and something that looked liked dried cream on it also. We have eaten here often without a problem, But this waitress needs to be retrained. She never returned to our table to ask if things were ok. I had to flag her down to point out the issue with the cheese. She looked at the lid and said she did not see anything wrong. I ask her if she was blind. No tip for this service.
