We just had a wonderful dinner! Atmosphere was warm and friendly. Food was terrific! I have several food allergies and our waitress, Anna, was very conscious about checking with the chef to make sure my restrictions could be met. Chef Kyle even whipped up a carrot ginger sauce that was fantastic! I am not used to everyone going that extra mile to help make my meal so allergy friendly, yet tasty too. Can’t wait to go back! Dietary restrictions: I was thrilled to find out there were numerous gluten free options that could also be adjusted to exclude garlic and onion (anyone who follows FODMAP could easily eat here!). Thank you again to our waitress, Anna, and Chef Kyle. My meal was great!

Great food and a style of food that Adrian has lacked for a long time. It's a small place that gets busy so wait times can be long during peak hours, plan accordingly. Would 100% suggest you give it a try. Lots of interesting stuff to try on tap also.

I’ve already reviewed rice and barley expressing my love for this place lol.. but I Wanted to edit my review after tonight! my husband and I get sushi probably more often then we should lol, but I had the smallest change in my order that was missed and the staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND to fix it! ..the Head Chef Kyle was outstanding (as usual!) ..Stephanie and Amanda were so sweet about it .. Stephanie has waited on us many times and has ALWAYS been top notch ..My husband has a sesame seed allergy and as you can imagine that’s really hard to have at any sushi place, but rice and Barley always go out of their way to accommodate that for us and he’s never had an issue! I couldn’t be more grateful for that! Thank you guys for always giving us 5 star service!

Stopped by Rice & Barley before a show at the Croswell and immediately felt unwelcome. The hostess said there was a 30 minute wait, no problem add us to the list! We planned to order drinks at the bar and wait outside. After sitting at the bar for roughly 20 minutes, no drinks, no communication, nothing. We left.We were very disappointed having read the reviews and the menu looked wonderful. I understand that staffing issues and business all factor in but 20 minutes at the bar without even a greeting is unacceptable.

Not Just Another Brick in the Wall!Amazing food, attentive staff! One of the finest dining experiences that Adrian has to offer! The Taphouse offers a superb Vietnamese Beef Stew as well as very creative and delicious cocktails. I highly recommend Rice & Barley Taphouse!

The food was excellent the service not so much. Nobody wiped down our table, took a really long time to get our drinks and food, then nobody ever asked if we wanted more drinks. Our waitress was dressed differently from the others so I think maybe she was a manager because near the end of our visit she sent over a young girl to check on us who said it was only her 2nd day and we received better service from her our last 10 minutes than we had the previous 2 hours. This was our first time visiting, but I am giving 5 stars because everyone has bad nights. Hopefully the next experience is better.

Stopped at Rice & Barley while in town for a wrestling tourneyment. Great little restaurant in down town Adrian. We ordered the cauliflower wings as an appetizer....the coating on the outside of the cauliflower was done well. For entrees we ordered the Poke bowl, 2 sushi rolls and a create your own bowl. Ingredients were super fresh and flavors were amazing!!Stephanie was our waitress she did a great job! She took the time to explain menu options, was very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend stopping at the Rice & Barley Taphouse when you have the opportunity.

This is our second visit to the Taphouse and it was just as excellent as the first! The “make-your-own” bowl is delicious and the sushi was terrific. Anna was our server and was pleasant and always knew when we needed a refill! Definitely recommend this new Adrian establishment!!

We always enjoy eating at Rice & Barley! It's a go-to every time we're in Adrian, and our experience tonight was fantastic as usual! Their bowls are big enough to share, and their servers are amazing, helpful, and friendly. Anna was our server this evening and provided excellent service and great recommendations.

If you can get past the main servers/hostesses that walk by you and won’t take your name and would rather chat with each other than clear the 4 empty tables so they can seat those that are waiting, the food is excellent! This is not the first time this has happened to us with those servers/hostesses. Seems to be their MO. Our server Amanda who was working the bar was finally able to take pity on us because she had an opening in her section! She was wonderful! I normally would be more understanding with everything going on due to Covid but like I said this is probably the 4th time I’ve had that issue with these servers that are working the main seating area! Highly recommend the food just grab a seat at the bar if there are any!
