Sadly, the Alanson Depot is permanently closed; the property is for sale. Lovingly refurbished 1900's train depot is a turnkey restaurant operation in Alanson MI; Outdoor deck with view of the equally historic Hardware Store, walk to the Inland Water Route Museum, shops, boat dock.

We stopped in closer to closing time and received great service, great food and a fantastic Michigan summer brew.

The Depot is a peaceful and nostalgic restaurant in the heart of Alanson. The food is very quality and the portions more than adequate. The building is historic is you have an affinity for such things such as me. My waitress Kiara, was a very pleasant you women who provided prompt and friendly service. She checked in enough times to make sure you didn't feel forgotten, but not to many times that you had to chew quickly to respond to questions. Family friendly and great selections for the whole family

Went there for breakfast, while on vacation and liked it so much we returned for supper later. Friendly service, tasty food. I never had a Greek omelet before, nor mahi-mahi fish tacos. Both were delicious! My husband said their hamburger was one of the best he ever had. Next time we are in the area we will be sure to stop in!

Raw veggies in the greek omelette and barely cooked hash browns. Eggs ordered over medium arrived as pretty much hard boiled. I can't believe this place has a 4.5 star rating.
My wife and I stopped for dinner during our bike trip. We just happened to stop and take a chance on this restaurant . We were pleasantly impressed by the friendliness of the staff, notably Amanda and Alex. Our food was served quickly for a Friday night. My wife had the prime rib which was a generous portion. And I had the Cajun chicken. They were both presented very well and both dishes were delicious.

Jessica W was a terrific server . Food was hot and fresh tasting. Larger prime rib was very good. French onion soup was not too salty. Burger was very good . The only negative was the bill for 1 prime rib , 1 burger, 1 fry, 1 glass of wine, 2 onion soup appetizers was $61 . Plus 20 % tip, bill was $73.20.

Stopped at this cute little restaurant on our drive. Efficient and friendly service, good food, good variety on the menu, and a cool history behind the place - our whole party agreed it was a great choice.

There were some really nice selections on the menu. Not quite haute cuisine but really good choices. The salad I had was wonderful. Several different kinds of beer other than the usual. All in all a really good experience.

Although the tea was terrible... The jalapeno bacon cheddar burger and French onion soup were really good. They were a little slow, but I think several people came in close to the same time. Overall, I would recommend.
