Went for lunch and honestly probably won't need dinner tonight because the portions were amazing. The soup and salad bar hit the spot, with some delicious and creative soups, and matched with a great salad selection. We enjoyed every part of our meal and the service, even had to take a slice of carrot cake to go because who can turn down homemade desserts.

Stopped on a Saturday afternoon. While the place wasn’t busy, the food was excellent . Homemade soups were SO Good! And the salad bar was great. We stopped on a whim, but will definitely stop again when up north!

We stopped here for lunch and it was the best decision of the day! Betty was the best!!!! She made our day so much better! ❤️ The bloody Mary was perfect and so was our food - we left with carrot cake to go for later 😜

Most polite and engaging, respectful service in all of Michigan..... that I experienced on this trip. Burgers and the brisket, meatloaf.... all got high marks from the crew we had there.

Sat at the bar and had an awesome dinner along with our bartender was very attentive, even though she was busy. Chocolate martini sample was yummy, thanks for the great food and great welcoming! We will be back!!! Smash burger was yummy too!!

What started off as a quick and easy way to get dinner turned into a new favorite when we stay in the area. Minutes away from Crooked River Lodge (and even in walking distance), Bob’s Place is a cozy diner/bar that is welcoming on the outside, with a clean nostalgic interior. Well maintained with an upbeat vibe. We didn’t dine in as the family enjoyed being able to kick back at the lodge. Every time we ordered the food was well prepared with good portions. From a chicken topped salad in a tortilla bowl, to burgers, chicken and sides everything was fresh and enjoyable. No out of this world overly spiced food, it is standard fare done right. We had enough leftovers from a couple visits to make a third meal, and still bring home leftovers from the sides portions. It’s been long held belief of ours that if a place can make onion rings crisp with a light breading and not be over cooked thay they know how to cook. Bob’s Place is a shining example of this theory put to practice. It is our new favorite for when we stay in the Alanson area.
