This was our first time here since it re-opened. It was always our favorite place for breakfast. It had the best Monte Cristo sandwich! However, we were very disappointed. The sandwich was burnt as well as the potatoes. The skillet was overcooked, dry and also served with burnt potatoes. However, the service and atmosphere was great. We won’t go back.

The Ruben sandwich was extra good! They cheated on the dried cherries in the chicken salad by adding grapes.

Be prepared for the chairs. The seats are cloth. Your really sink in. Not the best for anyone with mobility issues. The only other option is picnic tables with attached benches.

Service was fine, albeit awkward. Ordered the iron skillet that comes with sausage mixed in the home fries, added onions and green peppers to it (additional toppings are $2 a piece). Forgot to specify how I wanted my eggs (my mistake) but was never asked and came scrambled. Not a big deal. My issue: the dish was entirely flavorless eggs and a mix of sliced potatoes either charred or under done, with nothing in between. There was maybe a bite of sausage in the entire skillet, hardly any onion, with a few green peppers. $18 later, I shall not be returning. My dinning companion had the same with bacon, could at least see some meat in her breakfast, but skimpy.

The food probably would have tasted okay if it had been hot. Our food was delivered after 2 other tables that were sat after us. It was a full restaurant so it was loud as it was but the music was extra loud on top of that. $4 for a 4-6 oz glass of Orange juice is absolutely rediculous! $4 for milk and pop is also rediculous but at least the glass was a pint jar! The portion sizes were more than enough but, a $97 Breakfast bill for 4 was insane! Never again.

The food was great as always. Prices for some items are getting a little ridiculous. $4.00 for a pint mason jar of iced tea which had been sitting for quite awhile, no inquiry regarding refill, yet my husband's $3.00 cup of coffee was automatically refilled numerous times without request or question.

Wonderful place for breakfast. I had the Corned Beef Hash, and it was amazing! Not the overly salted canned stuff I gind in many places it's real chunks of corned beef. I also had to take home a jar of the jelly I had for my toast. It was a local Amish made jelly that they sell as well. To top it all off, the service was wonderful. All the ladies were so sweet!

Believe what you read. Place is bustling with folks from all over. Had the Avo toast. Hit the spot! Only service experience was with hosts as we had a take out order - but they were friendly and helpful youngsters. Drove over from Nub’s Nob. Was sus about ordering online but it went off without a hitch. Will definitely return to Brutus if I’m in Harbor Springs/Petoskey area.

Great breakfast place. My omelet was to big for my eyes, couldn't eat it all. A must stop if you're in the area.

The deep fried monte cristo was horrible. You don’t have it on the menu as being deep fried. The waitress should tell the patron that when they order. Great sandwich turned into a big fat ball. Never again. Omelet with tiny cubed ham. What are we five years old. No one who know good food would rate you any higher. Sorry.
