10 years ago I set out on a journey stopping along the way through different states rating different bakeries and primarily cinnamon rolls and fritters. The Dutch oven is good but I think way too much sugar is used. I've tried johanns in Petoskey, and I have to be honest that Johannes has the better of the two . I love donuts. Not enough places sell donuts anymore. Seems like Meijer and Walmart get frozen donuts delivered from some factory and pretend they're fresh.
This place is still selling great donuts and they're making them fresh. I try to stop and get a couple every time I go by. Haven't had a bad donut and the staff is always friendly.

I had to try the cherry pie. Glad I did, it is the best on the this planet or any other! You will never see a cherry pie with so many cherries. They are the darkest and most flavorful cherries I have ever tasted and the texture was perfect too. Not too much filling be cause there is barely any room and the crust was perfect also, very light just the right texture also.
