My mom and I went for an early dinner about 3pm. They only had 1 table and 2 at the bar. Server came over got our drink orders and brought them back then took our food order. Mom ordered cod sandwich and onion rings I had just the JD bourbon mushroom Swiss burger. When the order came out the waitress set them down and asked if we needed anything else. At the time we didn't. She never came back to the table. She stood at the bar. There were only 5 onion rings (for $4.50 that is ridiculous) and my mom's cod sandwich was so tough She couldn't chew it and the onion rings were not the greatest tasting. When the waitress finally came over to bring our bill mom told her about the sandwich and she said I'm sorry then went on to tell us bartending stories. Absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. Only a story about bartending. I don't want a story. I have my own as I was also a bartender and waitress. She then asked if we were paying with card or cash. Still nothing about the situation at hand. Our bill was over $32.00 for a burger, a tough cod sandwich, gross onion rings, and 2 teas! This was the third time we had been there and all three times were terrible. Absolutely done with this place.

I was heading back home from my Amazon shift, made my last stop in Albion, and was looking for dinner. Didn't see much in Albion that was open at the time, So I decided to go for a cruise on back roads and came across this place

My initial reaction was - right on the lake= expensive! ... Or so i assumed, but decided to gamble. The entrance was a little hard to find, but it got better once we got inside. The menu was generally the same as most other taverns, with a few unique items.

Seafood is expensive anywhere you go, there's no way around that cost. That said, It wasnt quite as expensive as I expected. $10-20 for most food, with some signature dishes going into the 20s. I had the petite steak & shrimp with a side of sweet potatoes & toast for $20. Draft beer for about $5

What stood out the most was the service!! Our waitress was Morgan, very personable, nice and engaging!! Often times I consider waitressing to be a dead art, that certainly was not the case here!!! A good waitress makes customers feel valued, welcomed and want to come back. And she sure did! If I'm in the area again, I'll be sure to stop by

Went to Duck Lake Tavern tonight for my birthday dinner because they were advertising a great meal for the holiday.
The seafood was good but the steaks all came out all cooked over done from what we ordered. Even the two other people that came with us got the ribeye and theirs were over cooked. That's 5 steaks total that were all well done that should have been medium rare and medium. All the steaks were brown throughout and tough to chew. One person with the ribeye sent her's back and got it recooked and it came out perfect the second time. 3 other people, two porterhouse and one ribeye just wanted it taken off the bill. Everyone continued eating and everything was fine. My girlfriend made a comment to make sure we still tip the waitress for the full amount of the bill like we had still had the steaks on the bill. We ordered more drinks and shots to celebrate my birthday. One of the drink orders didn't show up and I had to remind the waitress of it.
The last round of drinks got messed up the worst though. A crown on the rocks was ordered by my parents friend and my girlfriend got crown with red bull. Both look very similar. My girlfriend was given a drink and the waitress walked away. My parents friend hadn't received his drink yet. My girlfriend took a sip of the drink that was placed in front of her and she could tell right away that it was straight crown on the rocks. So she was going to keep drinking it and so my girlfriend just put some coke in it instead. The waitress realized she made a mistake and gave my girlfriend her crown and red bull and asked if she had taken a drink of the first drink already. My girlfriend said yes she already drank from it and the waitress took the drink back up to the bar. My girlfriend watched her put a few ice cubes back into it and bring it back to my parents friend. We all could tell by the color that it wasn't straight crown on the rocks. It was the same crown on the rocks that my girlfriend had that she had put the coke in, hence the darker color. Didn't even try at least changing the glass or straw. Major health code violation. My parents friend that drinks crown on the rocks instantly could tell it wasn't straight crown. So the waitress took it back to the bar and had the bartender pour a crown on the rocks. We got another round of shots and went to cash out. The bartender came over with the waitress when she brought back the bills and told my parents friend that we made the waitress feel uncomfortable. We were all so confused. When I asked why the bartender said the waitress overheard us saying that we weren't going to tip her because of the mishaps that had happened. That wasn't the case at all. Both me and my girlfriend have worked in the service industry. We understand that the food being overcooked wasn't her fault. Everything was great up until the point where she tried giving a drink to someone that was wrongly made. There was some deception happening where she tried "fixing" a drink order but the right way to fix it would have been to dump it and just pour another crown on the rocks. When I tried explaining everything they just kept saying that I'm making the waitress even more uncomfortable so I just left the building to avoid any confrontation because the cook had come out then you make sure everything was alright. After my mom paid the bill and came back to the car I asked if they had taken the steaks off the bill and she said they didn't. I asked why not and she said she was told that the steaks were cooked to temp as ordered. Say what?! I asked for a steak cooked medium and it was left on way too long. No pink inside. Brown all the way through. So everything was fine up until getting the bill. Was definitely still going to tip the waitress for the full amount (my mom still tipped her 20%). But for you not to take off the steaks from the bill is totally messed up. And don't lie about drink orders. Just fix it how it should be. Kylie wa

Fun place. We have been a few times wings are good don't have them mix the sauce on them get it on the side. They charge you $1.39 ( each order) to put the sauce on them we could understand the up charge we we got extra, but they wings are good. Another time went i tried the burger not sure if it was even beef. Wasn't horrible it was edible. This last time we went We had the nachos they were great other then being charged for the sour cream and salsa. We understand food cost are high but charging for $1.75 sour cream and $1.75 salsa we always thought it was something that should automatically come with it. It does at every other bar we have went to. Staff is friendly and service is great. Just watch for the up charges.

Frank has greatly improved the atmosphere of this place; their food is pricey and about the same quality as before; they have one waitress that should be avoided at all times. They know who she is.

I personally have not had a good experience since a few of the staff members left. New staff is rude and unprofessional. Food is over priced for what you get. For example, there is an additional charge for wings to be tossed in sauce. I would not recommend this restaurant for dining. Good place for few drinks and events but that’s about it.
