Food is not to liking. Got orders wrong. Waiter not seen but twice to take order and to leave. Sorry service won't be back.

The service was extremely good. They were busy and the owner told us they had a couple less servers than expected because of the Grand Valley football game, but you couldn't tell by the service. They have a few TVs but some views are obstructed. I had the fish tacos and the Bahama mama. Excellent.

Came on a pretty busy night after a GVSU football game. The online ordering was the shut down for the night (7:30pm Saturday) Went to the physical location, waited in line for about 15 mins just to talk to the hostess to put in and order and they said they were not able to do that. Pretty chaotic and pretty disappointing…but whatever, looked mid. I’m Sure the food was ok.

Such a charming place! The colorful painted booths and chairs made this restaurant feel authentic! The chips were crispy without being too thin and the salsa needed a little tweaking. We added salt, lime juice and a bit of pico. The salsa is not spicy at all but had a great flavor after our additions. I ordered a taco salad and my husband ordered the dinner combo, two tacos with rice and beans. He chose grilled chicken tacos. The food was some of the best we’ve had in the area. Being from Arizona we are picky about our Mexican food. This was very, very good. We had a great time and we highly recommend you give it a try.

A couple months ago I purchased a $50 gift card for our Pastor and his wife's anniversary. When got the CC bill they had added a 18% gratuity fee without our consent. On 8-13-2025 we took our grandson, home on leave, to El Aztecas in Allendale out for lunch. When we got the bill a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill! The whole tipping thing these days has turned me off to dinning out anymore. They think that a tip is owed them automatically! I find this extremely distasteful. The food was very good, service was excellent, the atmosphere was quiet, and the price was very resonable. But the gall for them to add the tip for me is a huge turn off! I don't think I'll be back!

This has been a Allendale classic for many years and we love the owner who is a very kind gentleman. Recently we've noticed a decline in customer service and changing menus. We know several people who are vegetarians and can only order sides, or main dishes at full price even with no meat.

Also - taco Tuesday should include discounts on all tacos unless listed elsewhere.....
