Main St. Pub - Allendale

We ordered takeout from here over the weekend - just some snacks for lunch while we were out and about. I only had the fried pickles and fries but they were both so good (those pickles were some of the best I've had in a while) and my husband really enjoyed his appetizers as well! Our server was super friendly and our food came out hot. Would definitely stop by again!

We have been customers of Kalamazoo, Portage, Mattawan, and area locations for decades. We have been happy 95% of the time. No complaints....until we had dinner at the Allendale location. We honestly thought it was owned by a different parent company than the Kalamazoo area locations. Everything was so amazing!! The presentation of the food was gorgeous. Everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The server was just the best (Giani (sorry for misspelling her name)). The atmosphere is so welcoming and comfortable. The manager, Jamie, is so very nice and based on how great the staff is, I can only assume she is a great person for them to work for. The Allendale location is what every other location should be striving to mimic. Comparing this location to all of the Kalamazoo and surrounding area locations, this one was like fine dining and the others are like the (now closed/demolished) McDonald's on Riverview in Kalamazoo. I truly hope the owners of Main Street up the standards of other locations to meet what the Allendale location is giving their customers.

Server was friendly. Food was ok. Portions seemed smaller and prices seemed higher. Now tacking on a 4% “MI Wage and Benefit Recovery”tax to the bill. Wasn’t made aware upfront so it was a surprise. Told us it was a “New Law”. Turns out that’s not truthful. Won’t be back. Pay a fair wage instead of passing it to patrons who are already paying your high prices. Felt dishonest

Okay service if there isn't a good looking dark dude in front of you, otherwise gl with the thirst from these bartenders. Atmosphere is totally random depending on the day also.

I've always appreciated Main St. Pub for its great atmosphere and food, but unfortunately, my recent experience has changed my perspective. I called to inquire about job openings and spoke with the manager, Jamie.
To say she was rude is putting it lightly - she was dismissive, impatient, and made the entire interaction feel unnecessarily uncomfortable.
After seeing other reviews mentioning the same behavior, including one from someone whose niece worked under Jamie and had a similarly negative experience, it's clear this isn't a one-off issue. It's disappointing to see someone in a leadership role treat others this way - especially when it directly impacts staff morale and the guest experience.
A restaurant is only as good as the people running it, and no matter how great the food is, poor treatment of staff (or potential staff) reflects badly on the entire establishment. I truly hope Main St. Pub takes these concerns seriously and addresses the ongoing issues with management. Until then, I won't be returning or recommending it to others

4% service charge is a joke- if you need to add this to bills as you have higher prices already don’t be in business, that’s your choice to be an entrepreneur, not to have everyone else be charged extra to visit a place you operate and opened. It’s actually an insult, be better! You are hurting your team and helping yourself.

Reserved a room for anniversary party after being disappointed looking at other places. Main St. Pub looked great. Best decision we could have made. Service was great, food was great and they allowed us to do things other places wouldn't. Price was also very reasonable. If we make another 10 years, this is the place we will go. Completely satisfied. The menu for parties is different than the regular menu and we could set a time and try the various items on the group menu to decide what we wanted.

Food was ok. Burger was ordered medium. Got well done. Server was friendly and kind. Surprise at the end when the check came. 4% Fee tacked on by the business that is also taxed. Fee is misleading making you think it is from the state. It is not. Just the business giving you a fee you didn’t know about until you get the check. We have eaten here before several times but won’t be back.

I ordered a medium rare bronco burger + Lettuce, tomato, onion and diced pickle online. I received a burger with non of these items, well done and as far as I can tell absolutely no sauce and the smallest portion of fries I’ve ever seen. Also it’s a little insulting to have you tip online then leave a tip line on the receipt you have to sign like you didn’t already tip well enough. Very disappointed on this order.
