Main St. Pub - Allendale

Server was friendly. Food was ok. Portions seemed smaller and prices seemed higher. Now tacking on a 4% “MI Wage and Benefit Recovery”tax to the bill. Wasn’t made aware upfront so it was a surprise. Told us it was a “New Law”. Turns out that’s not truthful. Won’t be back. Pay a fair wage instead of passing it to patrons who are already paying your high prices. Felt dishonest

Okay service if there isn't a good looking dark dude in front of you, otherwise gl with the thirst from these bartenders. Atmosphere is totally random depending on the day also.

Had a very large group and they were so great with us. All the staff were amazing, drinks were great it was a good time.

I've always appreciated Main St. Pub for its great atmosphere and food, but unfortunately, my recent experience has changed my perspective. I called to inquire about job openings and spoke with the manager, Jamie.
To say she was rude is putting it lightly - she was dismissive, impatient, and made the entire interaction feel unnecessarily uncomfortable.
After seeing other reviews mentioning the same behavior, including one from someone whose niece worked under Jamie and had a similarly negative experience, it's clear this isn't a one-off issue. It's disappointing to see someone in a leadership role treat others this way - especially when it directly impacts staff morale and the guest experience.
A restaurant is only as good as the people running it, and no matter how great the food is, poor treatment of staff (or potential staff) reflects badly on the entire establishment. I truly hope Main St. Pub takes these concerns seriously and addresses the ongoing issues with management. Until then, I won't be returning or recommending it to others

4% service charge is a joke- if you need to add this to bills as you have higher prices already don’t be in business, that’s your choice to be an entrepreneur, not to have everyone else be charged extra to visit a place you operate and opened. It’s actually an insult, be better! You are hurting your team and helping yourself.

Reserved a room for anniversary party after being disappointed looking at other places. Main St. Pub looked great. Best decision we could have made. Service was great, food was great and they allowed us to do things other places wouldn't. Price was also very reasonable. If we make another 10 years, this is the place we will go. Completely satisfied. The menu for parties is different than the regular menu and we could set a time and try the various items on the group menu to decide what we wanted.

Food was ok. Burger was ordered medium. Got well done. Server was friendly and kind. Surprise at the end when the check came. 4% Fee tacked on by the business that is also taxed. Fee is misleading making you think it is from the state. It is not. Just the business giving you a fee you didn’t know about until you get the check. We have eaten here before several times but won’t be back.

I ordered a medium rare bronco burger + Lettuce, tomato, onion and diced pickle online. I received a burger with non of these items, well done and as far as I can tell absolutely no sauce and the smallest portion of fries I’ve ever seen. Also it’s a little insulting to have you tip online then leave a tip line on the receipt you have to sign like you didn’t already tip well enough. Very disappointed on this order.

Before I give you all of the WRETCHED details, I would like to start off by saying our server was WONDERFUL, I believe his name was Brezey (my apologies for misspelling). HOWEVER, there were many instances in which I overheard the manager SCREAMING at her staff, and I mean ripping them apart, not just stressful banter. After one instance, I overheard the manager yelling, then saw a poor girl leave the kitchen in tears. Believe me I've done my fair share in the restaurant industry so I understand how hectic it can get, but that is NEVER an excuse to mistreat others. In my opinion, If you have poor communication skills, you should not be working at a restaurant, let alone as a MANAGER. I feel truly sorry for these college kids who are just trying to earn a living. Its hard enough in this modern economy, let alone showing up to work for such a petulant manager (petulant: childish and ill tempered, in case she reads this because I suspect her vocabulary most likely isn't developed enough to understand). I suggest she takes some anger management classes or get a degree in communication because this behavior is not ok and should NOT be normalized!!!

Loved this restaurant and atmosphere however, the manager, Jamie, Was horrendously loud and rude... not sure why she treats staff so rudely but she definitely needs a tude check. my niece worked there for 2 months and hated every second of working with this manager specifically. for that reason alone, we will not be returning... I would never recommend a restaurant, no matter how good, if the higher ups cannot treat staff correctly. Hoping Main st. Pub can clear out the bad weeds...
