We had good expectations based on the location, decor, and the amount of time we waited for a table.
Our server was very nice, but not doing a great job. At first I thought it was because they were busy and understaffed, but when I looked around, there were many servers and not that many tables.
My wife, kids and I met my parents here for a weekend breakfast. Our orders were taken quickly enough, but when the food came out, the only thing that wasn’t cold — and I mean left out on the counter for 10 minutes cold — were the hash browns. Three of us ordered our eggs over medium. All of them were severely undercooked, to the point that the whites were not even firm. Bacon? Cold. Biscuits and gravy? Cold. Toast? Cold and hard as a rock.
No one ever checked on us. In fact, we had to get up and find the coffee for refills ourselves; no one ever checked on us.
Ironically, our waitress came back as we were choking down the last bites and asked, “how are those first bites tasting?” We told her how dissatisfied we were. She was nice about it and offered to replace our food, but it was too late
She did knock a bit off our check, but we will not be back.

This is the 2nd time coming here and I was hoping it could be where I come with my mom every year for our annual greenhouse visit. First time was great. Great experience, food, and I felt welcomed. Today was the total opposite. After our waitress took our order, I didn't see her for a while. We ordered breakfast food so I wasn't expecting a half hour wait. I saw a guy and his kids who came in AFTER us already eating and pretty close to being done. I finally asked the host where our food was and miraculously they brought it out within minutes after asking. Food was cold. All of it. I was a waitress before and can only assume she forgot to put in our order which happens but she never once stopped by to let us know or anything. Just disappeared for 20 min. After getting our food, I didnt see her again until she gave us the bill. Another waitress checked on us, took our plates, and I even saw our waitress ask her to run our payment qnd give us our receipt. I understand being busy. I get it but this seemed almost on purpose. Not sure we will be back.

Went there for the 1st time with my girlfriend both of us were pretty excited trying somewhere new but honestly don’t think we’ll be back. To start the service was very lack luster. Took forever for our server to come back to us. They hardly checked up on us. They were pretty respectful tho but other than that the whole vibe just felt so off and pretty unwelcoming. Once we finally got our food my food itself was lukewarm at best and the portion size was pretty small. I definitely left still hungry so if your a man that’s hungry I would suggest somewhere else if you actually wanna be full after your meal. Even my gf made a comment about how small the size was and was saying she would be hungry again with in a couple hours. Once we finished eatting our server never came back to check if we wanted anything else they just came back with the bill. The most welcomed I felt was when I put my money on the table and stood up to leave they said “thanks have a great day” from across the room. Also there was some type of smaller bug crawling around on the floor by our table not sure what it was. I would suggest trying somewhere else plenty of great options in the standale area. Pepermil grill, new beginnings, morning belle, west side social have all been pretty good to me so far.

This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants of all time. I've been going here since they opened and I've never had a bad experience with food quality or service. Me and my family have always felt very welcome, and I've actually gotten to know the owner Antonio who is an amazing man. He always goes out of his way to come talk to us when he sees us and treats my kids like they are family. LOVE LOVE LOVE The Nest Egg!!!

Had high hopes. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and was sorely disappointed. Was absolutely canned gravy most likely Gordon foods brand. My wife got eggs and sausages and was also not impressed. The wait staff was pretty decent.
Went here for breakfast. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside but it did have a few flies flying around inside while we were waiting to order and there were scratches on the seat of the chairs and the menus had food stains on them. Our server was very nice and attentive. Now the food... I ordered the Allendale omelet which is a standard meat and cheese. The hashbrowns were under seasoned and not quite crispy. The omelet was disappointing... the ham inside was not well cooked at all. It seemed as though a bunch of pre-cooked meats were thrown in and cooked into the eggs. The sourdough toast was actually the best part of my meal. My partner got the chicken and waffles. The chicken had a more peppery seasoning and was slightly over breaded. The waffles were very big and filling. Overall, while the food was a little bit of a miss... the issues with the food are easy fixes.

We had a VERY long wait for food, then 2 out of the 4 things ordered were completely incorrect. Plus food was missing from the order. Even when they were told, nothing was corrected. $60 for 4 to eat and only half of the meals were correct. First time and probably last time.
