A decent sushi restaurant in Auburn Hills near Oakland University. We came here for a double date night and had an overall good time. They have a REALLY big sushi menu and can pretty much make anything you ask them. Every order comes with miso soup and cucumber salad. The soup is good but the cucumber salad is amazing. They do not service alcohol which is disappointing since saki and Japanese beer goes so well with sushi but it's not a big deal, just worth mentioning. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The sushi chefs are friendly. The sushi came out very fat although it was fairly quiet when we went ( Wednesday evening ) and it was spring break so most college kids were probably not around. The sushi itself was good. Not amazing but not bad. The best part was the spicy rolls were actually spicy which was nice. The rest of the flavors were just average for sushi. The prices were decent so overall it was nice. There aren't any other sushi restaurants in the area I can think of but if you're willing to go to downtown Rochester or Royal Oak there are better sushi restaurants, but this far north I can't think of any.Worth a look

Always have a great experience here. Both sushi and hibachi have been great each time. Enjoy all the available selections for sushi. Staff have always been friendly, along with the wonderful service. Highly recommend this restaurant for either sushi or hibachi.

I ordered takeout and received the tiniest rolls I have ever seen! I can't believe what I just got for the price! There are definitely better sushi places in the area! It was good but not good for the eye, and I'm trying not to let it ruin my night. We were still hungry after this tiny meal. I am still so shocked with what I just got!

Stepped in for a quick lunch in between meetings. Great food and service was impeccable. Excellent variety of offerings and attention to detail was commendable. The crispy rice was perfect! I went with a sushi combo and fish was fresh and just exactly what I needed. Will highly recommend and definitely come back!

Makimoto has the best Sushi outside of Noble Fish Clawson, and since our local Sushi Closed (Big Wave Baldwin Road) we now drive all the way to Makimoto to fix our Sushi crave! They do not serve alcohol, I wish for a cold beer or saki... other than missing a bar it is Top Notch (+10-years returning customer). My daughter enjoys the other menu items, noodle dishes... they do have more than Sushi... try this place, You Will LOVE It

Great sushi! Have had an assortment rolls here and always enjoyed my meal. The miso is delicious as well. This place is usually packed during weekday lunches, for good

Excellent sushi, both nigiri and sashimi, and outstanding specialty rolls. Only odd thing is the unavailability of alcohol; this is the first sushi place I have been to where sake was not offered. But if you are not intending on drinking, then this place is an excellent choice for a delicious sushi meal.

Always consistent. This is my go to for sushi in this particular area. The selection is always fresh, well prepared, nice sized portions. Rolls are made nice and tight, sashimi is lovely, and there is something for everyone. I've tried other items on the menu, the bibimbop is so good. Be patient with the bibimbop if you order it in the restaurant, the stone bowl keeps the dish lava hot for a long time. You'll be the last one to finish your meal! If you order it carry out, it definitely won't be as hot. Service has always been good. Staff is courteous and prompt. The place has never been really busy, and I've probably eaten here a dozen times. The place is usually super clean. Only once was our table and booth seat not wiped down well. You'll have no problem getting a seat, it's never super busy. The carry out portion of the business does seem to be always bustling. We've carried out a couple times, and it's been great, but I prefer to eat sushi in the restaurant as much as I can.

Their food is so good that I had to order more. I would recommend this if you need a quick stop to eat something. Also the tempura shrimp I had was just AMAZING!! And they make the food so quickly and they serve the food very quickly. The service is AMAZING!!
