Allison is fantastic! She always makes us feel welcome and remembers our go-to items. The food is great.
Unfortunately, the quality of the food and service of 876 has slipped dramatically. There aren't enough servers and no one at then ront of the house to greet people and get them seated. Even though there were empty tables, people were waiting for some time. The bartender was doing double duty and taking some orders and delivering water to tables. Nevertheless, the service is horrible. We waited almost an hour to get our order, and as it turned out, it was not like they had to do a lot of preparation to get it on the table. I ordered the harvest salad and grilled salmon on the side. The salad did not have the toasted hazelnuts as stated on the menu and the grilled salmon was cooked to death several days ago and brought to the table still chilled. It was really inedible. My husband had the tagliatelle Bolognese, and it was not up to the quality of visits from prior years. There were large chunks of meat and carrots swimming in a very liquidy tomato sauce that was devoid of seasoning. The pasta itself was broken into tiny chunks from being overcooked. It seems that the kitchen is not prepared to handle even a modicum of orders and food trickled out to other tables. In addition, someone needs to work with the chefs to improve the quality of the food. Because we come up here frequently, I hate to see what's happening at 876. Where are the owners and why don't they step into get a handle on the situation? We haven't given up on you yet, but absent some improvement, that will be an issue.
The experience of dining at 876 was surprising. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the food was good. The waitress was friendly but the selection was limited in terms of my individual palate. The pricing was in accordance with a place that would have expected to be higher end. The selection of restaurants in the area is limited this place offers a unique experience.
First of all, we did expect 876 to be more of a fine dining restaurant based on their menu offerings and pricing. It was just a bar, and it was loud even with only a few people in there. A new server was assigned to us who clearly was not well trained and very unsure of himself. Despite only a few tables being filled, the food delivery was very slow (he did apologize for that). My 1/2 Harvest Salad had very crunchy beet pieces and something squishy and funky in the bottom (really don't know what that was). My husband ordered asparagus and chorizo soup but they brought potato. When questioned, they said they ran out of asparagus so used potatoes instead but never asked him if he still wanted it. His walleye, potatoes and green beans were oily and flavorless. I mean no seasonings at all. If I hadn't brought my own Himalayan pink salt, he would have just eaten a tasteless oily dish. (No salt or pepper on the tables.) I found out the original chef has left and the new cook obviously needs work. We drove 45 minutes each way for a special celebration there and we were greatly disappointed. We do not plan on going back.
Most worthless food I've ever had. $28 for 5 shrimp, dry bread and uncooked noodles that were dry. I'll never grace your doorstep again!
We've dined here a number of times since they've opened. The food is usually very good. The menu has been redone sine our last trip. Service was ok but could have been more attentive. We asked for extra bread to soak up the broth in the mussels, which is excellent. Getting charged $3 for 4 small pieces of. Crostini seemed excessive. Overall, it's 4 stars.
Ordered 4 chicken sandwiches and they made me take 2 out of the warmer and made 2 fresh. Why not make all 4 fresh because the other 2 were hard and dry and inedible for 25 dollars you would think you would get good food will never eat here again.

Loved our time at 876. It was our second visit. Loved the food and drinks. Our server was so very friendly.
Our visit to 876 in Baldwin on Valentine's Day: This was the second time we came to 876 and were extremely disappointed; I've been 4 times total .Their food is quality, but, the service and food planning was absolutely terrible. Reservations were for 7:00 and upon being seated, were told there was no pizza dough. Okay. We ordered a glass of wine and a water. That took 15 min to come. We ordered the meatball appetizer, which was good (but, took 1/2 hr to arrive; 45 min in). My date ordered the Ropa Vieja and were told they were out of Brisket. So, she ordered the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese and was told this was not available either. So she ordered the Tagliatelle in mushroom sauce. Perfect!! My date decided she wanted the drink special and I ordered another glass of wine. 20 min later, I walked up to the bar and ordered them direct, which we got immediately. An hour after ordering our food, the waitress came back and said they were out of the pasta for the Tagliatelle. She reordered a salad; so much for going out to eat a quality meal only to get a salad you can get anywhere. Mind you, we were there at 7:00 pm and they were out of, literally, 1/3 of their menu. Looking around the restaurant, none of the tables were happy and were there for a LONG time. We got our food at about 9:20. Our waitress was horrible!! When presented the bill, our waitress made extra sure that we knew we were not charged for the Mushroom Tagliatelle, like it was being gifted. She never came by to see if we needed anything, no apology, nothing. 2 other waitresses did notice we were not being serviced. I ordered the Spinach Lasagna Rotolo which was very good, albeit, small. Literally rolled one noodle, cut in half, covered in sauce and cheese. Again, the food here is awesome. The service and food planning is horrible. 2-1/2 hrs for a pasta dish, salad, appetizer, and 4 drinks; 2 I had to get myself. I doubt we'll return. This has happened 2 out of 4 visits.
The kitchen was REALLY backed up and it took almost 1 1/2 hours to get our food. The restaurant seemed short staffed and overall chaotic.

Chicken taste like bullshizzle
Always a lovely visit to 876! We are frequent customers each time we visit our MI lake house, at least eight times a year with family and friends. Delicious classic recipes that satisfy every palate. Great decor, vibe. Staff is always professional, friendly and have a great work ethic. So glad you took a chance on Baldwin❤️
They didn't have chicken so they went and bought some to make my meal. The gluten free pasta is AMAZING!!!!
My friends who had the walleye were delighted. The harvest pizza was delicious, though l would have liked a little more of the toppings...the beets and squash. Our server, Ari, was amazing! She was fun and very helpful. She gets 7 stars! We will be back.
Best chicken breast I’ve ever had. Wasn’t dry at all.
